Download Festival Adds Over 40 Bands To Its 2020 Lineup.
Downloaders, are you ready for your biggest announcement yet? We’ve added over 40 acts to your already awesome Download 2020 line up!
So, it’s time to get hyped for: Alter Bridge, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Motionless In White, Funeral For A Friend, Bowling For Soup, The Darkness, Sepultura, Mastodon, The Distillers, Employed To Serve, The Menzingers, 3 Doors Down, Milk Teeth, Holding Absence, Lacuna Coil, Loathe and loads more.
And, WWE NXT UK is making a welcome return to Donington Park for #DL2020. Plus, we reveal those all important day splits. Could it get any better?
We are beyond psyched to have Alter Bridge back on the Main Stage at Download. You know these US titans are going to bring the anthems when they hit Donington Park with their latest album, ‘Walk The Sky’. And, you’re going to want to be there for it.
Alter Bridge’s Mark Tremonti said:
“We are very proud and honoured to be a part of the 2020 lineup. Download has always been the highlight of our touring schedule over the years, thanks for another opportunity to perform for some of the best rock fans in the world!”
Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes are going to wreak total havoc at Download 2020. Just imagine how sick the Main Stage pit is going to be when Frank and his boys drop anthems like ‘Juggernaut’, ‘Crowbar’ and ‘I Hate You’.
Also, hitting up the Main Stage are Motionless In White with their recent album, ‘Disguise’. And, if you like your riffs even heavier we’ve got Australia’s THY ART IS MURDER to get you running for the circle pit.
Don’t stop to catch your breath just yet, as keeping the pit going at the Main Stage are rising metalcorers Wage War and Brit melodic metallers The Raven Age.
The Second Stage just got more immense. Prog metal legends Mastodon are hitting up the stage to give you an unforgettable show. And, The Distillers fronted by the one and only Brody Dalle are making a welcome return with a show that’ll beat your heart out.
Make sure you add spandex kecks to your #DL2020 packing list as The Darkness are also performing on the Second Stage.
Frontman Justin Hawkins said:
“UK festival appearances are like children – so precious and impossible to pick a favourite. This year though, my number 1 child is our Download slot! I have a pair of pyjama bottoms designed to look like jeans with tickets for Monsters of Rock 1991 hanging out of the pocket, and that tells you everything you need to know about my excitement levels.”
Also joining them on the Second Stage are Mississippi rock stalwarts 3 Doors Down, Italian goth rockers Lacuna Coil, melodic metallers Amaranthe, bondage punks Hatari and Canadian rockers, The Glorious Sons.
The festival reveals Funeral For A Friend are making their euphoric return to Donington Park. The Welsh post-hardcore band will be headlining The Avalanche Stage on Saturday.
Joining them are everyone’s favourite cheeky pop punks, Bowling For Soup! Talking about their upcoming headline performance, Bowling For Soup’s Jaret Reddick said:
“Download Festival is always something special for Bowling For Soup. So many of the stories we share with other bands and family members back home come from our time spent playing or hanging out at this festival. Very much looking forward to making more memories this summer…and of course bringing something special to our show, that only BFS can get away with!”
Still thirsting for more? Get ready to chug as also coming to The Avalanche Stage are Philly punks The Menzingers, the brutal Employed To Serve, UK punk trio Milk Teeth, mysterious entity Sleep Token, garage punks Press Club and many more.
Rooooots, bloody, roooots! That’s right, Sepultura are your The Dogtooth Stage headliners on Saturday at Download 2020!
Derrick Green from Sepultura, said:
“We are ecstatic about our return to Download Festival. It’s an honour and pleasure to be a part of a festival with such a rich music history. We look forward to rocking out with you all!!”
Also, coming to The Dogtooth Stage are Sydney metalcore innovators Northlane, Leeds hardcore band Higher Power, London prog rockers Haken, instrumental auteurs Polyphia and tons more names.
