In Search of Sun Frontman’s Directorial Debut Is A Success In The Charts
Adam Leader, frontman for UK Metal Quintet In Search Of Sun, can now add feature film director to his resume as his directorial debut feature film “Hosts”. “Hosts” is co-directed by Richard Oakes, with whom Leader runs Dark Fable Media. Their past clients include Airbourne, Tesseract (who they created the feature length cinematic experience “Portals” for) and Ihsahn, among others.
Hosts is shocking audiences all over the world, winning the ‘Best Death Award’ from Total Film at FrightFest UK and having its world Premiere at Spain’s Sitges International Film Festival. Entering the top 20 in the overall iTunes Movie Charts and the top 3 in the Horror Charts, “Hosts” is garnering momentum rapidly as it climbs higher in the ranks each day.
It’s been a hit with film critics too, with the likes of The New York Times calling it “Brutal & Blood-Soaked”. Starburst Magazine have called it “Gruesome, seat-edge and unpredictable”, while the BFI have said “The Hendersons’s Yuletide dinner is violently disrupted by body-snatched neighbours, and home truths are excavated”.
The duo recently produced the music video to “Hosts” end credits soundtrack, which was written by In Search Of Sun and can be found below! The band have just entered the studio to record new music due out later this year. Meanwhile, Leader and Oakes are currently hard at work on their second feature, which they hope to shoot in late 2021.
In Search Of Sun made their major festival debut in 2016 when they appeared at the UK’s legendary Download event, getting a great turn-out and response. Touring and gigging with the likes of Twelve Foot Ninja and Nothing More has helped to garner massive praise for both their energetic live performance and their dynamic sound, which refuses to play the genre game and can best be described as a “breath of fresh air”.
Hosts is available to buy and rent across iTunes, Prime Video and Sky Store in the UK now.
