Uprising Announce First Wave of Bands for 2023

After the break for a global pandemic, Uprising returned last year to the O2 Academy Leicester for what turned into an epic event headlined by UK stoner rock legends Orange Goblin.

For 2023 the festival returns with an earlier April, time slot. The main event happens on Saturday April 29th, with the using 'Night Before' and 'Aftermath' events sandwiching it on the Friday and Sunday.

Uprising 6 headliners need no introduction. British doom/gothic metal royalty Paradise Lost will close out the event at Leicesters 02 Academy, next April. Nick Holmes and his not so merry men will celebrate 35 years of gloom with what is set to be a magnificent performance.

Alongside them, and in complete contrast, US industrial outfit Combichrist head to Leicester performing what they are calling an "old school set". If you love the origins of this band then you know where you need to be next April!

Adding to the bill are atmospheric Caledonian metal outfit Saor and British upstarts Palm Reader. But add to that the hottest, and most debated, band in modern metal. Whilst Ghost, unfortunately, will not grace the festival this year Dark Wave prophets Priest will, an outfit that contains former members of Tobias Forge's crew.

Making a long overdue appearance at Uprising we have the stellar Boss Keloid, metalcore quintet Internal Conflict make their return to the event alongside progressive Middle Eastern doom outfit from London, Lowen and Leicester faithful Blood Oath.
