DEVIL'S ISLAND featuring DeadAudioSaints

Welcome to this weeks edition of Devil's Island! Every week we maroon a band or artist on the island and see what they get up to, how they cope with being all alone on a small island in the middle of the ocean. It's not your average desert island and we'll see just how each person copes with the extreme conditions.

This week when we arrived at Devil's Island we find DeadAudioSaints sat on the beach. The island is far from their home, so how did they end up here and how did they cope with life on Devil's Island?

Find out now...

Welcome to The Razors'e Edge and our somewhat lovely, warm desert island. Don't worry about it's name I'm sure it's not as bad as that would suggest.

You're marooned here on this island, but before you ended up shipwrecked you chose one album that you couldn't live without. Which album did you each chose and why?

Danny Jones (vocals/synth): Placebo - Meds. I have such a strong connection with this record from start to finish. The theme, the aesthetic, it’s just an amazing piece of work. Space Monkey is just pure perfection. Also I regularly ask myself, ‘Did you forget to take your meds?’

Corey Jones (bass/guitars/synth): Velvet Revolver - Contraband. Just pure rock awesomeness, from the first Duff bass line opening on Sucker Train Blues.

Damon Head (drums and synths): Korn - Greatest Hits Vol.1, it’s so good they didn’t bother with Vol.2.

Just behind that palm tree is a shack for each of you to stay in, with enough space for you to put up a poster on the wall of one album cover. What album cover do you each chose?

DJ: Rob Zombie - American Made Music to Strip By. Have a look for yourself and see why.

DH: ‘Mo Bounce’ by Iggy Azalea. I feel it’s pretty self explanatory.

There's also a bar on this here island. But alas each of you only get to choose one drink for the entirety of your stay. What's your tipple of choice?

DJ: Havana Club 7 Rum! Why is all the rum gone??

CJ: Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum. Who drank all the rum, where has it gone??

DH: Three-for-a-fiver Jägerbombs.

Your suitcases were lost when your ship sank, but you each managed to salvage one item of band merch. What’s the merch and for what band?

DJ: Lenny Kravitz Ray Ban’s. The levels of coolness whilst stuck would still be maintained.

DH: Adidas Korn hoodie. The stress of trying to get one means it’ll have to come with me.

You’re sat on the island thinking “I’m stuck here on this island with my bandmates for eternity”… who would you rather have been shipwrecked with?

DJ: I would be looking to attempt to get off the Island at the earliest opportunity! With all the rum!!

DH: Absolutely anyone after about an hour with these two. Stuck on an island with siblings… jeez.

There's a walkman in your pocket, on the tape inside is the recording of the one live show that stands out for you. It could be any show, from any band, anywhere in the world. What show is on that walkman?

DJ: Nine Inch Nails live from Woodstock ‘94 - just awesome.

CJ: Velvet Revolver live from Download Festival 2005.

DH: I’d probably choose the first time I saw Slipknot, Birmingham NEC, Feb 2002. Iowa era Slipknot was arguably them at their best. Was crazy seeing all the platforms, revolving drum kits and pyro back then, I’ll have only just been eight years old so it was pretty mind blowing.

You're getting desperate, you decide the only course of action is to put a message in a bottle and hope someone finds it. Your message could be to any member of any band, but should be the most suitable for a rescue attempt. Who is it?

DJ: Rob Zombie - he would dig through ditches, burn through the witches in Dragula to come to the rescue.

DH: Any member of Duran Duran, hopefully they still have the boat from the ‘Rio’ video to come get us.

You've been stuck here for a while and food supplies are running low. There's only one thing for it... which fellow band member gets sacrificed to help the others survive?

DJ: I would sacrifice myself to escape from the others in some sort of gothic ritual performed by an invading gang of alternative goth chicks!! Everyone wins.

DH: To be fair, Corey would just burn if he was stuck on a remote island in the sun, he’d probably take one for the team and do it himself.

Finally, when the ship sank you each managed to save one person from the wreckage. That person is the one musician that has influenced your career the most, shaped your way of thinking and your outlook on life. Who did you save?

DJ: Brian Molko

CJ: Duff Mckagan

DH: Jamie Lenman
