Bloodstock Bound: Dead Flesh

As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.

Today we chat with Dead Flesh

The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.

Dead Flesh: I’m Rich lead vocals in Dead Flesh. On Guitar we have Chris and Troy, AJ on bass and Nelly on drums.

The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?

Dead Flesh: Usually we stick with deathcore, blast beats and breakdowns! But we have lots of influences from different genres, genre elitism is kinda old.

The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?

Dead Flesh: We won Hitchin’s Metal 2 The Masses!

The Razor's Edge: How tough was this years M2TM competition?

Dead Flesh: It was a real tough competition but an amazing one. Our local venue Club 85 is closing down so we were thrilled we got to play there a bunch of times before the closing.

The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?

Dead Flesh: I’ve been attending Bloodstock as a punter for years, it’s my favourite music festival. Wanting to play metal in front of a big audience was my motivation to start singing in the first place so I’m beyond thrilled I’ll get to do that at the same stage as some of my absolute favourite artists!

The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?

Dead Flesh: We play hard and fast, mosh pits, headbanging, and hopefully a kick ass wall of death

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?

Dead Flesh: Sunday, it will not be restful.

The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?

Dead Flesh: Big one for me is Clutch, I’ve been a fan for years but never had the chance to see them live, Opeth a close second on the excitement list.

The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?

Dead Flesh: More gigs more music! We’ve recently teamed up with EMG management, so we’ve got some cool stuff in the pipeline

The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?

Dead Flesh: Heading to Valhalla because we’re all dealing with major imposter syndrome.

The Razor's Edge: It’s festival weekend, what’s your food vendor of choice on site?

Dead Flesh: There’s a vegan stall near the new blood stage which is always amazing, definitely there!
