Inside the Sickened Mind by Thrasherwolf is 100% distilled thrash, It’s nothing more and nothing less. Undiluted, unfiltered, pure, raw, straight up and served neat. Every lyric is spat out, every solo is shredded, more riffs than a Dark Angel live show, and no quarter to anyone who isn’t a disciple of thrash.

Over the eight tracks we get a lesson in thrash. GBH gives us a headbanging opening riff which then ascends to a circle pit inducing, incredibly fast riff that will get everyone moving from Livingston to Lowestoft in every shit hole, flea pit that the Wolf decides to dine in.

My personal favourite Shameless Loser which changes riffs and tempo four times before the first minutes has elapsed. Two revolutions of this treatment and we take a turn down killer riff street before the end.

There is a thrash ballad which sounds more like power metal, we get an epic sounding title track that finishes the album and provides plenty of drama, a groove thrash song in Consumed that speeds up and you get a fast and aggressive opener in“Final Act of Aggression.

Most, if not all the songs follow an unconventional route. The arrangements are mixed up and original. The solos are tastefully done and the rhythm section is solid as a rock with some stomach punching bass breaks.

A couple of pet hates, two fade outs and a slightly light production, but it wouldn’t be thrash metal without fade outs and less than perfect production. The up side is that live, these songs are going to be even better.

The gatekeepers will want to keep this out, the thrash snobs will hate it, but the fact remains if you love thrash, then you will love Inside the Sickened Mind by Thrasherwolf. And nobody is safe when the Wolves are running… join the pack.
