Bloodstock Bound: Head Dent
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Head Dent
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Head Dent: Hey, we’re HEAD DENT from Stoke-on-Trent, we’ve got Luke on Vocals, Sam on Guitar, Ollie on Bass and Dan on Drums.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Head Dent: Well.. we’re not ‘classically’ metal, we’re Hardcore Punk, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t inspired by metal and feel there is massive crossover in both genres.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Head Dent: We had a hard fought battle in the Stoke Metal 2 The Masses, all five heats had great bands and the final was tough. Special shoutout to 2x4 WMBD for playing such a great set and The Underground for hosting.
The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?
Head Dent: Like we say in the previous question all heats had great bands, Stokes music scene is in such a great place right now with so many great local bands.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Head Dent: Playing Bloodstock means the world to us. Just looking at this years line-up we’ve been inspired by so many of the bands playing, we can’t wait to play and watch some of our favourite bands.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Head Dent: Raw non-stop energy.
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Head Dent: We’re playing on Saturday, be sure to check us out.
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Head Dent: We’re looking forward to Trivium, Machine Head, Gojira, Mastodon, Heriot, Kublai Khan TX and Nailbomb just to name a few but there are so many good bands across the entire weekend.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Head Dent: To play as many shows in front of as many people as possible. Get us in your local venue so we can show you what we’re all about.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Head Dent: We’re camping in artist camping this year but we’re gonna be spending as much time as we can getting in amongst it with all of the Bloodstockers in the arena.
The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Head Dent: We’ll be drinking as much Stella and Water as we can over the weekend, gotta keep it simple!
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Head Dent: See you there!
