Bloodstock Bound: Orme
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Orme
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Orme: We are Orme. The slowest power trio from Hertfordshire.
We are Guitarist and Singer Tom, Jimmy on Bass and Luke on Drums.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Orme: Drone metal, with the added riffs of doom and the atmosphere of psychedelic music.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Orme: Honestly, it was pure luck. We had been messaging Simon Hall for years on the off chance that we might get to play. We genuinely thought that Bloodstock wouldn't want to put a drone band on the bill. Then one day there was an email waiting in our inbox from Simon offering us a slot on the EMP stage. We couldn't believe it!
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Orme: It means a lot to us. Tom and Jimmy have played the festival before with other bands, but this means a lot as this is a band where we started it from the ground up, with no preconceived ideas of where we wanted it to go. We just wanted to do music we liked, and didn't really care what anyone else thought. And to suddenly be playing one of the biggest metal festivals in the UK is just surrea
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Orme: Wave after wave of bombarding drone. With satanic spoken word, ending in colossal riffs. It's gonna be funny when a band on the main stage finishes then suddenly from the EMP tent you'll just hear this cacophony!

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Orme: We are performing on the Sunday on the EMP Stage. Not sure what time yet but details of that will come out nearer the time.
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Orme: Ooo there's so many! Our mates in Famyne opening the Main Stage, Emperor, Orange Goblin, Ministry, Kublai Khan (for Tom anyway as he's the Hardcore fanatic), Static X, Barbarian Hermit, Wall and Obituary.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the EMP Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Orme: We've already got to do some cool stuff as a band before all this. Playing Desertfest last year was a dream come true, and getting to play other festivals as well as supporting Acid Mothers Temple, twice!
The next stage for us is just to keep moving forward. Keep evolving our sound. We are already writing new material that is sounding different, yet similar to what we already do. So keep your eyes and ears peeled for that in the future.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Orme: We are old, cranky and not the party animals we used to be (if we ever were haha!). So we'll be staying offsite I'm afraid.
The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Orme: When we went last year the slush puppy drinks were to die for. I think we'd have to go with them again this year.
