The Chuck Norris Experiment Track By Track Run Down of 'Hot Stuff 3'

Dr. Chuck Ransom of The Chuck Norris Experiment gives us a track by track run down of the bands latest opus 'Hot Stuff 3'.

Stairway To The Stars
Music: Originally a Blue Oÿster Cult song this has been given they royal CNE treatment for a BOC tribute album on Savage Magic Records (USA) that should been out a couple of years ago. So, we got tired of waiting and decided that it was time for the world to get a taste of this high octane fueled version of ours. Long live BOC!!!

Lyrics: The song mocks the arrogance and detachment often associated with famous personalities.

When The Dust Settles
Music: A cool lead melody brings you right into kind of the essence of what is the Chuck Norris Experiment. Pounding drums and heavy guitar riffing creates this steam roller of a track. It is short, it is fierce and it is one of those songs that I have going in my head when I wake up. This song was originally released on a split 5” vinyl single with Sonny Vincent.

Lyrics: The song is about emerging on top on the other side of a hard time.

Problems
Music: There are classic songs, and there are classic songs. THIS IS A CLASSIC PUNK SONG, that we wanted to treat with the respect it deserves and we aimed to give it a Scandinavian action rock touch, and rough up a bit. But I still think the punk attitude and nerve has been kept intact. This song is taken from a hopefully soon released tribute LP!

Lyrics: The song is about the frustration and alienation of youth in Britain, rejecting societal norms, conformity, and the establishment's hypocrisy, while challenging listeners to question their own fixed beliefs and embrace openness, essentially a call to arms for self-rule and independence against a dull, stagnant world.

When Shadows Fall On Your Grave
Music: This is our take on horror punk with a just a small touch of The Misfits. HAHA!! I really hope it sounds like something Misfits could have done back in the days, that was the plan. High tempo with and ominous horror movie melody in the chorus. A very quick and to the point song! Only released digitally before.

Lyrics: Imagine being inside a horror movie and being chased by mass murderer who ends up kidnapping you and eventually killing you. That what the song is about.

The End Of The Great Credibility Race
Music: The New Bomb Turks originally made this song, and, in our version, their guitar lead gets a very central role musically. Some re-arrangements have been made, and we added a Chucky vibe to it! Great song from the mighty New Bomb Turks. This song is taken from a tribute album released by Ghost Highway Records in 2024.

Lyrics: The song is about the disillusionment with the music industry, realizing "real" vs. "alternative" labels become meaningless after major label mergers dropped many bands, questioning art's role when it can't stop world problems, and sticking to honest, human survival within oppressive systems. The title reflects a shift from chasing "credibility" to focusing on music's purpose beyond commercialism or simplistic punk ideals.

Hammersmith Palais
Music: Originally by Michael Monroes band Demolition 23 this gem is probably the most sing along friendly on the record. Lots of melodies both from the guitars and also from vocals. We were asked to do a song for a tribute record to D23, and I instantly knew which song we wanted to do, and we snatched it. Punk rock at its finest.

Lyrics: The Song is about how things were better before gentrification and when originality and personality was encouraged rather than now, frowned upon.

Walking On My Grave
Music: A song by Dead moon that has been polished a bit. The great melodic lead riff has of course been kept, but some fat has been trimmed, and the sound is of course that of the Chuck Norris Experiment. This track was recorded for “A Tribute to Dead Moon – Vol 1”, that was released by Ghost Highway Recordings and Chaputa Records back in 2021. On volume two The Flaming Sideburns does a version of the same song.

Lyrics: The song is a gritty, disillusioned commentary on societal decay, lost youth, political futility, and personal struggle, capturing the darkness of Dead moons hometown Portland, Oregon, with themes of overdose, police brutality, and feeling replaced or forgotten

Tryin’
Music: An Eagles cover that has been made more heavy with heavier drums and more distortion. The iconic melodies are of course still there and especially the main riff stand out with rock drive and great vibe. It took some time for me to convince the band that we should do an Eagles track. I love the Eagles, one of Americas greatest bands!

Lyrics: The song is about perseverance, the long road of life, and finding your way in this world.

Electrify Me
Music: An Electric Frankenstein coves that has been added some glitter with more melodies and rhythm. The garage rock vibe kind of lingers in the background still. Electric Frankenstein is a band that has always been there, they have released a million records and played everywhere. The song choice was made by Stefan from No Balls Records, and the song has only been released digitally earlier.

Lyrics: The song is about being “Electrified” during a live show, basically just being blown away by a band’s performance.

All Your Bridges Are Burning
Music: I wrote this song for our album “Shortcuts” which was a 7” album with 12 songs! The original version is one minute long, this “long version” is almost two minutes! A classic Chuck Norris Experiment track. If someone asks, “how does your band sounds”, this is what I show them.

Lyrics: The song is about looking at someone who just keeps messing up and provoking and destroying their relations with everyone always.

In The Doorway
Music: A Misfits cover that has been kept true to its core with all the down strokes on the guitar and their signature vocal melodies. The lovely Mr Jake Starr formerly of Adam West and currently from Starr and the Czars gives a great guest appearance on the vocals on this song. The ending is maybe what you don’t expect. We cut the tempo in half and just grinded that sucker to the bones! Good times. Taken from the “Chuck Norris Experiment featuring Jake Starr EP”.

Lyrics: A classic Danzig horror movie themed lyric

Let The Wheels Roll
Music: A CNE original with all the classic ingredients, a verse full of hooks a sing along chorus and loads of energy and drive. Written by Chuck Rooster and recorded during the “This Will Leave a Mark” sessions, and it was previously released on a split single with Scumbag Millionaire on Savage Magic Records a few years ago.

Lyrics: The song is about being a band for 20 years and still “letting the wheels roll” and continuing to do what we do.

Habit To Support
Music: A straightforward rock track with a lot of punch in the main riff. The drums are driving this, at parts, quite furious song with hard hitting and lots of dynamics. This song was originally released on the “Chück Me!” LP. This is the remaster/re-fixed version that has only been released digitally before. The ending is epic, a great live song!

Lyrics: The lyrics are about the frustration of mankind having all the resources and knowledge to develop and create good. But still, we keep spending all our efforts in finding new ways to kill each other. Such a waste.

Thank you for having us, and we hope you dig this album! It streams everywhere and is also available on vinyl. Cheers from Sweden! / Chuck Ransom
