Bloodstock Bound: Rupcha Farms
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Rupcha Farms!
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Rupcha Farms: Now then people! We’re Bradfords own Rupcha Farms (points scored if you know where the names from!). We’re a brash northern 3 piece and have been an active band for 3 years now so still babies. We started of as a duo & launched an EP that we made during the pandemic. Then evolved into a band a couple months later. Have since been wide eyed sponges in the small band scene and gigging around North England.
Band members are:
Tyler – Vocalist
Neil – Guitarist/Producer
Aden – Drummer
Pleasure to meet you man.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Rupcha Farms: To describe our craft, we’re a cocktail mix of Alt Rap, metal/punk riffs, melody and electronica. We provide themes of social commentary, mental health & collective struggles that stems from our upbringing. Often get linked to Linkin Park, RATM, Prodigy, UK Rap/Grime, Skindred, Run the Jewels but we proudly have our own sound & identity.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Rupcha Farms: Oh mate, we just stumbled across a Facebook post looking for more Bloodstock bands with an email address to send across our stuff. I think it was for the New Blood stage originally but we got a reply saying we’re offering a EMP slot. Couldn’t believe that we were offered an alternative. We applied with a what’s there to loose mindset so was a huge shock honestly. Especially with our type of sound.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Rupcha Farms: Everything! Aden & I (Tyler) were at Bloodstock a couple of years ago having the time of our lives. It’s our favourite rock festival by a country mile. So community based and full of sound humans. We were in our first year then so to think we’d be on the line up a couple years later is insane! We’re just going to take the experience by the bull horns and ride it man. Will be a golden life moment for us all to share anyway.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Rupcha Farms: An energy of our own and a fun engaging set. We really like the challenge of people figuring us out, asking themselves “what’s this?” and converting them to an RF listener by the end. So, bring it on! Expect a combination of head banging and skanking and hopefully you’ll like what we provide. We’ve all walks of life enjoying something about us so hopefully it’s no different at Bloodstock.
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Rupcha Farms: Saturday 18:20pm, EMP stage
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Rupcha Farms: Architects are a favourite band amongst us. Really looking forward to Malevolence (Yorkshire! Yorkshire!), Sylosis, Hatebreed and Ankor too.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the EMP Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Rupcha Farms: More gigs, more networking, more grafting and just to take advantage of what hopefully comes from this. We’re as DIY as it gets & aware the opportunity draws more eyes onto us. So would be stupid to take the foot of the gas after. We’ve written a project and start releasing new music from it in July so will be campaigning the project later in the year too.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Rupcha Farms: I will be (Tyler) as I’m with a bunch of mates. Aden and Neil will be with crew. So a bit of both.
The Razor's Edge: It’s festival weekend, what’s your food vendor of choice on site?
Rupcha Farms: I hope they have the rotisserie chicken vendor again! Anything that soaks up booze, large burgers for example.
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Rupcha Farms: Thanks man, can’t wait. Be sure to check us out readers on all streaming platforms. New song out this Summer
