First Bands For Uprising 8 Revealed
Leicester’s premiere indoor rock and metal festival, Uprising returns for its eighth instalment on Saturday 24th May and it's coming armed with an eclectic mix of bands.
Kicking us off, returning British Metal heroes EARTHTONE9 who have released their first new music in 11 years, ‘In Resonance Nexus’. The release shows a confidence and vision of the future, with a hefty back catalogue and a legendary status, they are a band you do not want to miss.

Making their Uprising debut are the ethereal progressive rockers ESOTERICA, who hail from London. With four studio albums and an eagerly anticipated fifth on its way, the band will bring their atmospheric melodies, commanding vocals, and intricate instrumentation to wow audiences. They aim to captivate fans and leave them wanting more.
Fan favourites from Uprising 6, LOWEN return in 2025 armed with a brand new album, 'Do Not Go to War With the Demons of Mazandaran', which came out in early October through Church Road Records. They bring their powerful and passionate music, which tells ancient stories as well as the harrowing reality of life under the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Black Metal enthusiasts, Uprising are pleased to announce the inclusion of UNDERDARK in the Uprising 8 lineup. Established in 2015, this band has become a prominent force within the UK Black Metal scene, recognised for their distinctive and innovative songwriting, as well as their steadfast political stance.
Following their spontaneous participation in 'The Night Before Uprising' this year, HIDDEN MOTHERS, purveyors of ethereal and post-hardcore music, return to Uprising 8. They will perform in support of their debut album, set for release through Church Road Records in November. Attendees can anticipate a performance characterised by an immersive atmosphere, haunting melodies, and nuanced emotional depth.
Finally, Uprising are pleased to welcome back VOIDWALKER, the winners of Metal To The Masses 2023, who were crowned champions at Uprising 6. Following their achievement, they performed to a full audience at the New Blood tent during the Bloodstock Festival. Since then, the band has been establishing a strong presence through performances across the UK.
