Bloodstock Bound: Return to Solace
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Return to Solace
Please introduce yourselves.
We are Return To Solace and we comprise of Max on vocals, Tom on guitar, Dave on bass/vocals and Liam on drums.
How would you describe your sound?
We probably closely resemble metalcore however our influences range from rock, pop-punk, doom and countless other subgenres of metal.
How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
We competed in the Metal To The Masses competition
How tough was the competition this year?
This was our 4th/5th time competing in M2TM (including previous bands) and the competition is always extremely tough when the local scene has a vast amount of talent and this year was no different and it could definitely be countless other bands in the position that we are in now.
What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
For years we’ve competed hoping to get onto this festival and each year seems tougher than the last and now that we are here it brings relief, excitement and a sense of accomplishment to share the bill with so many huge names within the industry.
For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
An energetic, nonstop and sweaty show which we hope the crowd take on and move with us.

What day are you performing?
Sunday
What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Definitely Lamb Of God and Judas Priest but ones we won’t want to miss are Bleed From Within, Sepultura, Black Label Society & Fit For An Autopsy
Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
We will definitely take it as it comes and and try and give as good an impression that we can to help progress whether that be more shows being offered to places we haven’t played before, interest with other bands working with us or even just a few extra followers listening and coming to our shows.
Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
We will spend some time in Artist camping but on the most part we will be camping in standard with our partners, friends and whole crowd of Bloodstock as that is where all fun is!
You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Definitely a beer with a water chaser
See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
