Live Review: Battle Beast - London
Review by Deegan Armitage

Saturday night saw the return of power metal superstars Battle Beast to the London. The tour was announced after their sold out show at The Dome, promising a full headline show alongside super-group Cyhra to rock the ULU in London on the last leg of the UK tour.

Up first was Cyhra, a melodic death metal super-group featuring ex members of In Flames, Rhapsody, Amaranthe and Shining. Prior to the show I did not know much about these guys but its safe to say I have returned a fan. The band had amazing energy right from the first song and kept this energy up right till the end. A must see band if you get a chance, you will not be disappointed.

Between their powerful music and Jake E’s amazing vocals, I found myself enjoying the band pretty much from the first song of the set 'Letter to Myself' all the way up till the out track 'Out Of My Life'. By the end of the set I was very excited to discover more of there back catalogue and have found my self listening to them on repeat since seeing them.

Next were Battle Beast, and at this point the venue was getting very full and the crowd were chanting their name, anticipating them on stage. The mood in the ULU was electric, Battle Beast started with 'Unbroken', the first song on their new album 'No More Hollywood Endings'.

The band were on top form throughout while keeping up their own style of on stage antics like drinking larges amount of gin and competitions to see who could do the most amount of push ups which kept the crowd very entertained. The band were clearly loving life on the stage and sounded fantastic. Ending the set with fan favourite 'Beyond the Burning Skies', as they played the song confetti fell from the top of the venue raining on the crowd in glorious fashion.

Both bands were on top form and did not disappoint. A brilliant night all round.
