Single Review: OHHMS - Alive
Reviewed by Deegan Armitage
Kent based sludge outfit OHHMS have been busy during lockdown with the release of new single 'Alive' which premiered on May 1st 2020. The song itself is the first single from the new album 'Close' which is due for release at the end of the June on Holy Roar Records.
The single itself starts with a nice clean riff which screams gloomy atmosphere before throwing you into a much heavier section of the song. With a huge riff, booming drums and a chunky bass tone all finished off with vocalist Paul Waller's unique vocals, it makes for an impressive first impression and taster of what OHHMS is bringing to the table for the new album. From hearing this I certainly can’t wait!
The single screams aggression and proves that these guys are not willing to start calming down. After seeing them live earlier in the year and hearing their previous single 'Murder Is Murder Is Murder'; this is going to be a big year for OHHMS.
'Alive' can now be heard on all major streaming services here.
