Killing for the Cure takes us on a journey to the past in a rad car at break neck speed! High energy, driving rhythms, pounding percussion along with Raval's raw, powerful vocals, this will be a treat for any heavy metal fan.
Killing for the Cure is currently a one man project, Cory Raval originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, started this project in November of 2020, written and recorded in his small project studio in Salt Lake City, Utah. Cory does play all the instruments, and is producing the first release.
Cory started playing guitar at the age of 7, started playing Motley Crue and KISS at the age of 10. By 13, the sounds of Slayer, Metallica and Venom were filling his ears. At the age of 19, Cory joined his first band in Ottawa called Zealous Witness. He became a primary songwriter on most of the bands material on all 3 of their releases. That project lasted 7 years.
After that, Cory created an industrial metal band called Virus with 3 other musicians. He was a primary songwriter and lyricist. Virus released one album called Bio-Level 4 on Fringe Product, a Canadian label that had Sacrifice, Disciples of Power among others.
In 2003 Cory started his solo industrial rock project, The Gemini Ritual, released Heroin in 2007, which won Industrial Rock Album of the year and Industrial Rock artist of the year from the Los Angeles Music Awards. The Gemini Ritual is still going today, they released Ransom, and instrumental in 2020.
Killing for the Cure's first single, Welcome To The War, title track to the upcoming album, is a narration of the violence and corruption government imposed crowd control enforced by riot squads. The fear injected by violence leaves a nation speechless and angered, Welcome to the War displays the aggression, relentlessness and brutality of these events.
Coming in the spring, is the full length album, Welcome to the War, blending fast, aggressive tracks like Distortion of the truth, and the funeral dirge sounds of Toxic, this album should be one to add to any metalheads collection.
