Bloodstock 2022: Introducing - Fornoth
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and Jägermeister stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Fornoth!
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Fornoth: And if I were… to decline?
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your style of metal?
Fornoth: We play an amalgamation of blackened death metal with plenty of widdly bits (you'll see what I mean) and what we like to call "bog metal"
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Fornoth: We play metal which was a help - the Irish metal scene isn't too big either. Simon Hall liked us enough, I suppose is what it came down to!
The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?
Fornoth: There weren't many bands that sound like us at the Irish Metal 2 the Masses. For this reason the competition was very fun - it's great to hear different types of music - but I think it also helped us stand out a lot. Hoppity death metal with fast drums was what they were looking for, it appears!
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Fornoth: I've heard it said that Bloodstock is a lovely community - it's the size of a town and everyone is nice and cool each other. Someone once told me I'd be hard pressed to find an asshole there, so it'll be fantastic for us to finally change that! Plus it's cool to play our first big festival
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Fornoth: Hopefully they won't see us, because we plan to fill the tent with smoke! Anyone who can get a glimpse past the smoke can expect to see a few glowers and other various scary faces. As for the music, we like a bit of atmosphere and storytelling. Dynamics are a big thing for us!
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Fornoth: RB, Rebecca Black. Yall chillin in the front side, in the back seat, I'm driving; cruising. Fast lane, switching lanes with a car up by my side. Passing by is a school bus, ahead of me time goes tick tock. Check my watch, it's Friday - it's the weekend. We gonna have fun! Cmon, cmon yall!
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Fornoth: We played with Baest and that was a good show. Aside from that, between us we've got a full weekend of shows: Cattle Decap, Discharge, Sylosis, GWAR, Jinjer, Sleep Token, Lorna Shore, Dark Tranquility, Haint and Soen are some top picks from us!
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first stepping stone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Fornoth: I dunno, we just like playing music. We'd love to keep playing shows and getting our music heard!
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Fornoth: Oh hey thanks, see you too! Probably!
