Stonedead Festival 2022 - The Preview!
Stonedead Festival is upon us once more. No longer the new festival on the block, the one day, one stage, one monster rock show enters its forth year this weekend. The previous years have seen the festival go from strength to strength and this year will be no exception.
As campers arrive on site at Newark Showgrounds on Friday there will be a party atmosphere. Despite being a one day festival, the Friday night does play host to a party, this year featuring Stonedead alumni, Aussie rockers Massive and headlined by the mighty Black Spiders. There will be a call of “FUCK YOU BLACK SPIDERS” ringing in your ears through Saturday morning for sure.
The festival really kicks off on Saturday morning with Derby’s retro rock kings These Wicked Rivers opening the show. Swiftly followed by the unapologetic rock n fucking roll of Kickin Valentina. If those two are not enough to blow away the hangovers, nothing will.
NWOBHM legends Tygers of Pan Tang are set to take the stage early in the afternoon, bringing their classic metal stylings back. Whilst Cambridge outfit The Treatment have youth on their side as they follow on. Swedish rockers H.E.A.T. will ramp up the bank holiday temperature whilst the West Midlands lastest rock export Stone Broken will no doubt wow the crowd.
From here the heavy hitters come out swinging, first Vandenberg followed by the very best on the British classic rock scene Those Damn Crows. The valley boys will fly the flag for Wales with pride and no doubt steal the show ahead of what is to follow.
The bar has been set high but no doubt Michael Schenker will take it in his stride as he headlines this years event. The guitar legend toured the UK pre-COVID with a fantastic greatest hits set and no doubt the Stonedead faithful will be in for the same treatment.
One Day, One Stage, One Monster Rock Show.
See you in a field this Saturday!
