Album Review: Hurricane On Saturn - φnx

To be completely honest, I’m not going to hold back. The album is hideous. It’s a slow, gargled mess that feels just thrown together with no concept of the album they wanted. Almost like each member is pulling different directions. While there are a couple of moments where it feels like it’s going to pick up, the riffs on In Ash are great until the band slow back down with a disappointing breakdown. When I Shoot I Kill also has a killer riff but comes under fire from a misplaced EDM drop and the rapping just makes it unlistenable. The band obviously has their fans which I commend them for, but for me personally I can’t help but feel like this album is an insult to the genre that I spent the majority of my teen years elbow deep in. If Maydx held back on the rap element and used his cleans and growls more I think it would be a better album. Hell, I even like Solo Sangue as it’s the fastest song on the album and the band sound on point on the song. But that’s the only track I can give praise to.
