Bloodstock Bound: Street Soldier
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and Jägermeister stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Street Soldier!
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Street Soldier: Yo my name is Scotty and I’m the SLDR front man, on drums and backing vocals we have Laurie (The Drill Sgt), Ollie on guitar and Cam on bass
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your style of metal?
Street Soldier: We are a UK hardcore band, implementing elements of beatdown, slam, hip hop and nu metal, think of a mash up of Hatebreed, Slayer, Devourement and Beastie Boys and you’re halfway there.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Street Soldier: We applied to play the Jägermeister stage and were then offered a slot on the New Blood stage.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Street Soldier: We feel honoured to be able to showcase our style at such a renowned festival, alongside some of our favourite bands.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Street Soldier: You’ll expect nothing but pure energy and excitement along with potential broken bones and a smile on your face.
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Street Soldier: We are playing on the Friday on the New Blood stage at 7.30!
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Street Soldier: Looking forward to seeing Pest Control (Leeds thrash) and Candlemass on the Sophie Lancaster stage, also Killswitch Engage and Gatecreeper on the main stage, there are a whole load of other legendary bands like Biohazard, Crowbar, Knocked Loose, Decapitated, Sepultura, Megadeth. So many sick bands play at Bloodstock.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first stepping stone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Street Soldier: Straight after Bloodstock, we hit the road with Negative Frame and No Relief for our U.K run, we’ll be hitting Norwich, Leicester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Leeds, Newport, Southampton and London, if you like what you see then make sure you come through and support us where you can.
We also have a new record coming out July 28th, ‘Original Murda Material’, with 7 tracks of pure Murda.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Street Soldier: We will be camping in the artist section, but you’ll more than likely see us roaming the streets of bloodstock and wreaking havoc...
The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Street Soldier: Water all day everyday, also, white monster energy for Scotty and Cam and beers for the Drill Sgt and Ollie after dark.
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Street Soldiers: Looking forward to it! Cheers!
