Bloodstock Bound: Disposable
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Disposable
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Disposable: Hello! I am Billy, bassist and vocalist of Disposable. We also consist of Jack Batcharj on guitar, Oliver Wardell on guitar and Liam Tucker on drums!
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Disposable: We are first and foremost a thrash band, probably falling into the 'new school' category rather than the 'old school', with a bunch of other elements from most metal sub-genres peppered throughout!
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Disposable: We've pretty much been applying to play via email submission for as long as I can remember, and it seems that now is our time! Jack kicked it into overdrive by putting our heart and soul into the cover letter which must have appealed to Simon's sentimental side, along with the music!
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Disposable: Bloodstock is one of the first names that comes up in conversations about big metal events in the UK, so it is a real honour to be a part of that. It's a grass roots festival at its core, which is very cool to us. Some of our all time favourite bands are playing this year, so yeah, it's pretty amazing, exciting and nerve racking to be a part of it!
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Disposable: We always try to have FUN when we play live. That's kind of what it's all about for us. We want to enjoy ourselves, dive in head first to the environment, execute what we know we are capable of to the best of our ability while leaving a little bit of space for chaos. We're a lively band who play fast and heavy and want to give as much of that as we can to the good people who have paid money to be entertained!
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Disposable: We are performing on the Friday!
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Disposable: We are particularly excited to see our friends HAMMER tear up the New Blood Stage. We're also very keen to catch Acid Age and Hellripper. Opeth are a special one too, and maybe most of all - FORBIDDEN - one of the best thrash bands of ALL TIME.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Disposable: We're just wrapping up the recording sessions for our third album, which is coming out on November 29th. So we're picking away at that, having lots of fun doing it, playing a bunch of cool gigs supporting Xentrix, Hellripper and a couple of festivals in Scotland, then getting the album out.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Disposable: We have opted for the luxury of a nearby hotel - how very Edinburgh of us!
The Razor's Edge: It’s festival weekend, what’s your food vendor of choice on site?
Disposable: We are chicken guys, especially Liam, who is an absolute devil for a roast. So Roaming Rotisserie jumps out as a potential life saver for us.
