Bloodstock Bound: Lost Brethren
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Lost Brethren
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Lost Brethren: Ant (main composer, live drums), Adam (Vocals, guitar), Adrien (lead guitar), backing track of bass and synths.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Lost Brethren: Technical Death Metal with aspects of Thrash and Black Metal, and Sci-Fi / Alien Abduction influences in synth tracks and samples.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Lost Brethren: We applied for it and got accepted, after a rather productive year.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Lost Brethren: It really helps to get asked to play something as big and cool as Bloodstock, after putting in so much work for so many years. It makes all of our efforts feel worthwhile. We're looking forward to playing in front of new people, and we're massively thankful for the opportunity!
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Lost Brethren: We always aim to play as accurately as we can, with as much energy as possible, and welcome everyone in with a percentage of fun alongside the seriousness of the music. Expect lots of notes for a start!
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Lost Brethren: Friday, early.
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Lost Brethren: There are lots of different ones who appeal to each of us really, but for myself, (Adrien), I'm particularly looking forward to Igorrr, Forbidden, Deicide, Carcass, Eternal Champion, Acid Age, Crypta. I know Ant is most excited about seeing Septic Flesh! Adam is looking forward to seeing Carcass and Satyricon
The Razor's Edge: Playing the EMP Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Lost Brethren: Next up on the world domination plan, some more shows around the UK, currently being booked, including Scotland, hopefully a return to Northern Ireland where I live, and rounding up our next release.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Lost Brethren: We will be staying in orbit on our tour ship.
The Razor's Edge: It’s festival weekend, what’s your food vendor of choice on site?
Lost Brethren: I will have to look around when we get there, but if there's any of those roasts served in a Yorkshire, I'll probably live of those. And beer of course! Adam is partial to a calzone.
