Scottish rock legends GUN brought their electrifying sound to KK’s Steel Mill in Wolverhampton, treating fans to a night filled with anthemic classics and new-era energy. With cracking support from the rising stars Collateral and the awesome Kira Mac, this was an evening of classic rock at its finest.
Opening the show, Collateral set the mood with their sleek, Bon Jovi inspired hard rock. Launching into ‘Glass Sky’, they immediately grabbed the crowd’s attention with soaring vocals and polished riffs. Tracks like ‘Elysium’ and ‘On the Long Road’” showcased the band’s knack for heartfelt melodies, but it was ‘Mr. Big Shot’ that really stole the show. With its infectious energy and confident swagger, the closer left the audience shouting for more.
Collateral’s performance was tight, professional, and undeniably fun. Their charismatic stage presence and ability to connect with the audience showed they are well on their way to cementing a place in the UK rock scene.
Ramping up the energy, Kira Mac delivered a powerful set that mixed Rhiannon Hill’s gritty, soulful vocals with meaty riffs. Rhiannon’s dynamic stage presence shone on tracks like ‘Dead Man Walking’ and ‘Monster’ commanding the stage and enchanting the crowd with her wide smile.
The highlight of their set was ‘Climbing’ which brought the audience to a fever pitch with its anthemic chorus and driving rhythm. Meanwhile, slower moments like ‘Farewell’ allowed the band’s emotional depth to shine, proving they are more than just a high-energy rock outfit.
Kira Mac are a band with versatility and passion, and their performance was a testament to why they’re quickly growing a loyal following
As the headliners took the stage, the energy in the room reached its peak. GUN launched into ‘Lucky Guy’ and ‘She Knows’ instantly drawing cheers as they delivered their signature blend of melodic rock and powerful hooks. Vocalist Dante Gizzi commanded the stage with charisma, while the band’s tight performance kept the momentum rolling.
The setlist was a well-curated mix of fan favourites and deeper cuts. Tracks like ‘Don’t Say It’s Over’ and ‘Pride’ showcased the band’s ability to weave emotional resonance into their rock anthems, while ‘Welcome to the Real World’ and ‘Falling’” highlighted their legacy as classic rock icons.
Of course, the crowd came alive for classics like ‘Word Up!’ and ‘Steal Your Fire’, with singalongs echoing through the venue. GUN’s encore was the perfect capstone to an already stellar show. Starting with an acoustic rendition of ‘Taking on the World’, they brought a moment of intimacy before diving headfirst into the raucous ‘Shame on You’ and their high-octane cover of ‘Fight for Your Right’, which had the audience jumping and shouting until the final note.
This was a masterclass in live rock performance. GUN showed why they remain one of the most enduring forces in the genre, delivering a set that felt both nostalgic and fresh. Kira Mac and Collateral were perfect supports, offering enough variety and excitement to make this a memorable evening from start to finish.
