After twenty years, You Me At Six are calling it a day, bringing their Final Nights of Six Tour to Sheffield for one last time, with strong support from Daytime TV and Mallory Knox.

Having the honour of warming up the crowd tonight, Scottish four-piece Daytime TV ease the audience in with synth-pop vibes before leaning into a pop-punk energy. Despite the cramped stage with three different band setups, the Scottish four-piece deliver an impressive, well-paced half-hour set, with frontman Will Irvine not only hitting every note but also forging a solid connection with the crowd, who eagerly oblige when asked to be part of a music video recording. By the time their set ends, they’ve undoubtedly won over some new fans.

Next, Cambridge outfit Mallory Knox prove they’re the perfect support act, having been a staple of the scene for nearly as long as tonight’s headliners. Fresh off their 2023 reunion, they tear through a set spanning all four albums, met with loud singalongs from fans who clearly never stopped loving them and are glad to see them back.

Mikey Chapman owns the stage, bouncing around for the entire performance. Joe Savins is incredible on the lead guitar, owning the stage with his classy showmanship. Backed by a fantastic rhythm unit of James Gillett, Dave Rawlings, and Sam Douglas, Mallory Knox show that they've lost none of their class during their five-year hiatus. As they close with Lighthouse, a joyful sing-along, Mikey jokes about the time he was hit with a box of ‘Yorkshire Tea’ tea bags in Sheffield, just one of many moments proving how much this city has meant to the band.

As Oasis’ Don’t Look Back in Anger plays over the PA, the lights dim for the final time, and the sense of farewell hangs heavy in the air. You Me At Six open with Room to Breathe from their 2014 album Cavalier Youth, and from the first note, it’s clear why they’ve lasted two decades, tonight is one massive final singalong, with the crowd’s voices often matching Josh Franceschi’s in volume.

Though this tour marks a sad end, the band are embracing every moment, reflecting on their journey while delivering a set packed with fan favourites from all eight albums. Sheffield holds a special place in the band’s heart and history, and Josh makes sure to acknowledge that, reminiscing about their early gigs here. Tearing through songs like Night Creatures and Save It For The Bedroom, it’s clear that tonight's set has been curated for the fans, and the band is not afraid to leave everything on stage, proving they’re going out as British pop-punk legends still at the top of their game.

Probably the standout event of the evening is when the band brings out Bring Me the Horizon’s Oli Sykes for his feature part of Bite My Tongue, sending the crowd into overdrive, a moment that has since been excitedly plastered all over and shared thousands of times across social media.

Something the band excels at throughout the night is their ability to shift from high energy to a more subdued pace, which Josh and Max Helyer demonstrate when they slow things down with an acoustic Liquid Confidence, leading to a spine-tingling singalong.

As the night ends with one of the band’s biggest hits, Underdog, the set concludes on a euphoric note, leaving fans satisfied knowing they’ve witnessed the band go out on a high. As they step off stage for the last time in Sheffield, there’s no doubt, You Me At Six are bowing out on their own terms, cementing their legacy in British rock, spanning pop-punk to modern rock anthems.
