Damnation Reveal Corrosion of Conformity, Napalm Death And More
US stoner metal legends Corrosion of Conformity and UK grind godfathers Napalm Death will headline Damnation's 20th anniversary.
The festival will be Corrosion of Conformity's only European appearance this year while Napalm Death will close the weekend with their biggest-ever UK headline show, at BEC Arena, Manchester.
Belgian post metal masters Amenra, US fantasy doom upstarts Castle Rat also join the stacked bill alongside a very special one-off reunion set by UK extreme metallers Ted Maul.
CoC said:
"We've often referred to Manchester as a home away from home so we're beyond stoked to be returning for the 20th anniversary of Damnation Festival.
"Horns up!"
On their return to the live scene for a one-off special, Ted Maul said:
"When Damnation approached us with the idea of reforming Ted Maul for one gig, I laughed so hard I shit myself.
"But it was just ridiculous enough to become a reality.
"So, the professional devils will be getting back together for a one-off show at this year's Damnation, bringing back the spirit of 2007."
Damnation organiser Gavin McInally said:
"Corrosion of Conformity and Napalm Death have helped shape metal music for four decades and it's a genuine privilege to have legends close each night as we mark our own milestone of 20 years in the extreme metal world.
"CoC's European exclusive set will round off an obscenely stacked main stage featuring Orbit Culture, High on Fire, Deafheaven and Perturbator on the Saturday.
"While Napalm Death will play their biggest UK headlining show to close Sunday night following a cast of Damnation favourites including Pig Destroyer, The Haunted and the incredible Amenra."
He added:
"Castle Rat are clearly a band destined for great things with a stunning live performance, so we're delighted to have them join the bill.
"And no 20th birthday bash is complete with a surprise guest or two so after convincing Stampin' Ground and code to dust themselves off, we're over the moon to also have the Ted Maul lads back for a one-off special.
"If you weren't lucky, or old, enough to be part of the 2007 chaos, this if your chance.
"Pick up your instalment ticket for £25 plus fees tonight and let's sell this party out."
