Bloodstock Bound: Fight The Champ
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Fight The Champ
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Fight The Champ: Hi, thanks for speaking with us. There’s Myself Alex Morgan on lead vocals, Kai Mason on Guitar/Backing Vocals, Kurt Bond on Bass and Sam Whittle on Drums
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Fight The Champ: Great question, It's really an infusion of influences. We have the gritty of Nu Metal, the attitude of Hardcore and a pinch of Metalcore. Like adding salt to a wound, it hurts just a little!
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Fight The Champ: We recently won the M2TM Devon and Cornwall finals which was a fantastic display of talent that is rising here in the South West metal scene.
The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?
Fight The Champ: It was unreal to be honest, we came second in the first heat which We thought that was going to be it for Us. Then from there on out, the Playoffs were tough but My God was the final. Unreal talent, Lacerta, Bloodhound Cobermouth, Parlay and Sage gave everything on that stage and We managed to just Edge it. It definitely was a very close competition.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Fight The Champ: It means everything, everything to us Metalheads. That We all are and having all grown up listening and seeing these bands. We really can’t wait to be sharing the stage with some of the most legendary acts of all time. Still seems surreal.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Fight The Champ: You can expect an all out, high energy and high tempo show. When You Fight The Champ, You gotta give everything You got and leave it all out there or go home, We will not be going home!

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Fight The Champ: Saturday 9th August on the Newblood Stage and We can’t wait to bring the heat
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Fight The Champ: We can’t wait to catch our homies Apathy UK and Monochrome. Plus Trivium, Static X, Kublai Khan and so many others. This line up has so many awesome bands. We have to see where the days take us!
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first stepping stone in a band's journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Fight The Champ: More new music, more festivals, gigs and improving every aspect of our live shows where We can. You can never learn too much aye.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Fight The Champ: I think this year we shall be in the Artists/Media camping. It will be nice to see the other side of the festival experience. We will still however be in every mosh pit we can all the way through regardless.
The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Fight The Champ: For Myself, That would be an ice cold beer. Love me some! Kai and Kurt love a mean Pepsi or a bottle of High Quality H20 and Sam will sinking a few of those 0% percents with a top of water with some of the real McCoy!
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Fight The Champ: We can’t wait, thanks and see You then!
