Bloodstock Bound: Lust Ritual
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Lust Ritual
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Lust Ritual: Hello Bloodstock, we are Lust Ritual ,a London based 4 piece that started at the end of the pandemic in 2023. Myself Ieva (vocals) and Artie(guitar) were long time friends and wanted to see if our even longer- time shared musical obsessions would blend. When the world stopped breathing, we plotted, we argued and we played riffs. For anyone who has met me they will know that I am Doom metal till the death so when Artie came in I was hellbent on wanting to sound a certain way. The band’s true sound and magic however came from the collision of minds: Artie’s black metal influences and Harry’s(drums) blistering pace. For a hot minute we were a 3 piece, Innes our resident psychedelic rock child is our newest addition on bass and completes the line up.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Lust Ritual: This is a political question in our band😂I’d say forget all pre conceived notions of doom - No bell bottoms or moustaches here!
Whilst our sound is heavily influenced by old school vintage riffs we have dragged it through some twisted foreign waters. You will hear tom warrior snarls, powerful basslines and nostalgic heavy metal passages - straight off the 80s train.
The real curve ball? Sepultura drumming outside of the extreme metal box, pay close attention to our Harry!
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Lust Ritual: One does not kiss and tell 😉
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Lust Ritual: It means we are some lucky sons of bitches. Having been long attendees of bloodstock it is surreal to be on the other side, shoutout to all the patient, twisted souls supporting us along the way!
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Lust Ritual: We like to keep the audience on their feet! High energy, lustrous, and not one song will sound the same. Come see us and ride the crazy train.

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Lust Ritual: We are on Friday which has worked out fabulous, you will find us at the bars and the moshpits for the rest of the fest!
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Lust Ritual: Too many legends to count! I will headbang my dark soul away for Obituary, as for the guys everything from Emperor, Nailbomb and Orange Goblin.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first stepping stone in a band's journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Lust Ritual: We are in the process of recording an album and if the gods of riff are kind a UK tour that follows for 2026. Bloodstock is actually our penultimate booking of the year, we would like to focus on doing the most honest and original work we possible can on our upcoming full length release.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Lust Ritual: Band bonding trip this one - wherever the winds take us we’ll be there. Come say hello if you do spot us!
The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Lust Ritual: Tequila or die! The guys will of course opt for Beer and an occasional shot of only lord knows what.
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few days!
Lust Ritual: See you, you absolute legends!
