After an absolute hell of a journey to London tonight we are very much in need of tonight’s musical bliss. First up are Brand Of Sacrifice who I've have been a fan of them for around two years and have been consistently curious as to how they translate to the live setting.

I can confirm they absolutely blew expectations out of the water. This Canadian deathcore group are already making a massive impact  collaborating with the likes of Will Ramos. The live show is dialled in with much everyone in the crowd feeling the emotion coming though the PA’s. They are welcomed by tonight’s crowd, they are somewhat heavier than We Came As Romans, but that is no bad thing it seems.

The set highlight; hearing 'Exodus' start, and watching the pit loose their minds as it kicked in. If you have not heard them before, I highly recommend this song as it shows off Brand of Sacrifice’s sound perfectly, mixing the aggressive growls and the haunting singing, with just beautiful riffs and hard hitting drums.

Now it is time for We Came As Romans. Two years on from a tour with Bury Tomorrow, and here they are, back in London on their very own headline tour and  that glow up feels not only deserved, but overdue. The buzz around the room before they even came on was unreal – you could tell everyone knew this was going to be something special.

From the moment they burst onto the stage with 'All Is Beautiful', the energy was absolutely infectious. Considering this was the very first night of the tour, you’d maybe expect them to take a track or two to settle in. Nope. Not even slightly. They came out swinging and it felt like they’d already been on the road for weeks.

By the time they dropped 'Bad Luck', the atmosphere had gone up another notch. That song just feels built for a live setting – massive riffs, huge singalong moments, and the kind of breakdown that makes the floorboards of Brixton shake. It was the perfect way to “properly” start the show, and the crowd wasted zero time getting stuck in. Pits opened up from the get-go, people flying around with grins plastered across their faces.

And then there’s the wildcard – the Cookie Monster. Yep, an actual guy in a full-on Cookie Monster outfit living his best life in the pit for the entire set. You couldn’t not notice him.

Tracks like 'Daggers' and 'Lost In The Moment' hit just as hard as you’d hope, that perfect blend of aggression and melody that We Came As Romans have nailed down over the years. Dave Stephens vocals were on fire all night, flipping between raw screams and clean choruses with zero effort. You could tell the band were feeding off the energy from the floor too, because every chorus seemed to get bigger, every breakdown heavier.

One of the highlights of the night came with 'Wasted Age' a song that has always carried a certain weight, but live it just hits differently. You could feel the whole crowd lock in with the band, voices raised, fists in the air; it was one of those moments where it didn’t matter if you were in the front row or at the back by the bar, everyone was part of it.

They weren’t afraid to get heavy either; 'Darkbloom' nearly tore the roof off, absolute chaos in the pit, but controlled chaos, the kind that makes a show like this unforgettable. Then, switching it up, 'Hope' brought this massive, uplifting vibe that had the whole room singing together, it was a full on spine-tingling moment.

By the time they closed out with 'Black Hole' the place was just a frenzy; crowd surfers flying, people screaming every word back at the band, and that kind of end-of-set energy where you know you’ve seen something special. If this is just night one of the tour, you can only imagine how insane the rest of the run is going to be.

We Came As Romans aren’t just stepping into the headline spotlight, they’re owning it. I would not be surprised to see them hitting a few festivals next year and showing exactly what they are capable of.
