DEVIL'S ISLAND featuring The Rhubarb
Welcome to this weeks edition of Devil's Island! Every week we maroon a band or artist on the island and see what they get up to, how they cope with being all alone on a small island in the middle of the ocean. It's not your average desert island and we'll see just how each person copes with the extreme conditions.
This week when we arrived at Devil's Island we find The Rhubarb sat on the beach. The island is far from his home, so how did he end up here and how did he cope with life on Devil's Island?

Welcome to The Razors'e Edge and our somewhat lovely, warm desert island. Don't worry about it's name I'm sure it's not as bad as that would suggest.
You're marooned here on this island, but before you ended up shipwrecked you chose one album that you couldn't live without. Which album did you each chose and why?
Michael: Has to be ‘Houses Of The Holy’ by Led Zeppelin for me, just cause it’s got a bit of everything in there! Full on rock moments, reggae & dub moments and trippy moments ! All the stuff my ears would need if I’m marooned.
Sean: I would choose Mamas & Papas - if you can believe your eyes and ears. Need something uplifting that you can have a good singalong to.
Jack: I would choose The Colour and the Shape by Foo Fighters.
Hannah: The album would be Revolver by the Beatles. That album has been my best friend for years. Just behind that palm tree is a shack for each of you to sleep in, with enough space for you to put up a poster on the wall of one album cover.

Sean: Queen's self-titled, Queen. Love the colours and I get religious connotations from it, it could be my object of worship.
Jack: Vulgar Display of Power by Pantera. It’s just a guy being punched in the face and I love it.
Hannah: Space Ritual by Hawkwind. It’s psychedelic art work which blows my mind to this day. So trippy and surreal.
Michael: I’d probably need to choose Crack the Skye by Mastodon, just cause its extremely pleasing to look at.
There's also a bar on this here island. But alas each of you only get to choose one drink for the entirety of your stay. What's your tipple of choice?
Jack: A bottle of Corona.
Hannah: A double vodka and diet Irn-Bru.
Sean: (Cold) Peroni.

Your suitcases were lost when your ship sank, but you each managed to salvage one item of band merch. What’s the merch and for what band?
Hannah: My Paul McCartney T-shirt from his 2018 tour.
Sean: I have a vintage sex pistols t shirt I've had for like 15 years and it's been through the wars, I feel that cause it needs to continue it's crazy journey.
Jack: A signed copy of Sonic Highways by Foo Fighters which was also a gift from my dad.
Michael: Would probably have to be one of my Download Festival shirts, I wear those all the time.
You’re sat on the island thinking “I’m stuck here on this island with my bandmates for eternity”… who would you rather have been shipwrecked with?
Michael: Would need to say my other half.
Sean: A Dog.
Jack: My Girlfriend, Annalise.
Hannah: My dog and rabbit, Brodie and Joey.
There's a walkman in your pocket, on the tape inside is the recording of the one live show that stands out for you. It could be any show, from any band, anywhere in the world. What show is on that walkman?
Sean: Pink Floyd in the Pompeii amphitheatre 1973. Love to zone out listening to this.
Jack: Foo Fighters at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow in 2019. I was actually at the show but was far too drunk to remember most of it, I didn’t realise at the time that it would’ve been the last time seeing Taylor Hawkins play live.
Hannah: Would probs be Yob. No matter how many times I see them they get better and better. Last time I saw them I was quite drunk so I can’t remember much from them lol.
Michael: Gonna have to agree with Sean on this one, Live at Pompeii is absolutely incredible. It’s never out of my car CD rotation.
You're getting desperate, you decide the only course of action is to put a message in a bottle and hope someone finds it. Your message could be to any member of any band, but should be the most suitable for a rescue attempt. Who is it?
Jack: Dave Lombardo. I feel like with how fast and powerful his feet are on the kit he would be a fast swimmer, he could swim out to get us and swim back with us on his back like the scene from the SpongeBob movie with David Hasselhoff.
Hannah: I’d write to Ozzy Osbourne. And tell him how mental and inspirational he is.
Michael: I’d definitely address it to Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson. The dude literally flies planes. Problem solved haha.
Sean: It's got to be Iggy pop. Guy's invincible and survives anything.
You've been stuck here for a while and food supplies are running low. There's only one thing for it... which fellow band member gets sacrificed to help the others survive?
Hannah: I’d rather die than eat one of my best friends.
Michael: Hmmm, cannibalism, I think I’d Jack Sparrow myself a raft out of logs and chest hair before I ate my pals haha.
Sean: Probably need to take one for the team and sacrifice myself! But yeah probably Hannah.
Jack: I don’t know who I would pick but I know the rest of the guys wouldn’t pick me since there’s no meat on my bones.
Finally, when the ship sank you each managed to save one person from the wreckage. That person is the one musician that has influenced your career the most, shaped your way of thinking and your outlook on life. Who did you save?
Michael: I’d have to go with Jimmy Page. The impact Zeppelin have had on my life is immeasurable. Wouldn’t be me without those tunes.
Sean: I’d save Elton John.
Jack: Dave Grohl. I’ve always thought he was an incredible drummer, songwriter and just an all-round great guy.
Hannah: Paul McCartney. If I could marry that man I would. He plays like no other musician and he’ll always be my hero.
