Bloodstock Bound: Repulsive Vision
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and Jägermeister stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Repulsive Vision!
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Repulsive Vision: Hey, We're Repulsive Vision from the Lake District. The band are: Matt Davidson (Guitars and Backing Vocals), Mark Kirby (Bass), Gary Young (Drums) and Daryl Boyce (Lead Vocals)
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your style of metal?
Repulsive Vision: A mix of classic Old School Death Metal and Punk in the vein of Carcass, Napalm Death, Discharge, Death, Entombed, etc. We take a lot of influence from other subgenres such as Black Metal and Thrash too.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Repulsive Vision: We thankfully received an email from Simon Hall a couple of months ago and immediately responded with our confirmation.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Repulsive Vision: Playing Bloodstock has been a major goal for us since our beginning back in 2010. It's a festival we've all been going to for over a decade and we're really proud to have finally achieved it.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Repulsive Vision: We always aim to be tight and energetic with our performance and this will be no exception. With a smaller venue, we're hoping for an intense, intimate atmosphere for our fast Death metal riffs
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Repulsive Vision: Saturday 12th August
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Repulsive Vision: Megadeth, Triptykon, Candlemass, Gaerea, Sacred Reich, Gatecreeper, Urne, Tribulation, Biohazard, etc. Too many to list
The Razor's Edge: Playing the Jager Stage is just the first stepping stone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Repulsive Vision: We've got a handful of European festival shows at the end of this year including Malta Death Fest and Desecration of the Grave Fest in Milan and we're currently working on our third record. Once released, we're planning on doing some more frequent domestic and overseas shows in 2024.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Repulsive Vision: We'll be in the Artist camping I imagine
The Razor's Edge: How many Jager shots will you be consuming over the weekend?
Repulsive Vision: None til after our set haha! Who can say after that though haha
