DEVIL'S ISLAND featuring Jenna Leigh-Raine

Welcome to this weeks edition of Devil's Island! Every week we maroon a band or artist on the island and see what they get up to, how they cope with being all alone on a small island in the middle of the ocean. It's not your average desert island and we'll see just how each person copes with the extreme conditions.

This week when we arrived at Devil's Island we find Jenna Leigh-Raine sat on the beach. The island is far from their home, so how did they end up here and how did they cope with life on Devil's Island?

Find out now...

Welcome to The Razors'e Edge and our somewhat lovely, warm desert island. Don't worry about it's name I'm sure it's not as bad as that would suggest.

You're marooned here on this island, but before you ended up shipwrecked you chose one album that you couldn't live without. Which album did you each chose and why?

Well, I hope my guitarist (Porl Young) would have come with me so I don't end up painting a basketball for company. But based on what could keep me going, I might decide on a classic like Pink Floyd either The Final Cut or The Wall. But I think I might need something more up-tempo; I'll take KINGS OF THE WILD FRONTIER by Adam and the Ants. You can't help to jump about. This is difficult. Recently enroute to a studio rehearsal I got lost in a Sussex wonderland, found an antiques emporium and came across these old 40s 78s'. I got Frank Sinatra I Only Have Eyes For You which would be a good choice to take with me. Oh dear, you got me creating a list!

Just behind that palm tree is a shack for each of you to stay in, with enough space for you to put up a poster on the wall of one album cover. What album cover do you each chose?

I'll hazard a guess Porl might go for The Cure's Pornography, but I think Disintegration might win. Oh no, actually, let's go with Songs From A Broken World. For myself I might go for DANCE by Gary Numan or any Avril Lavigne.

There's also a bar on this here island. But alas each of you only get to choose one drink for the entirety of your stay. What's your tipple of choice?

Well I suppose there is no ice cubes on this island, so I'll take some limoncello.

Your suitcases were lost when your ship sank, but you each managed to salvage one item of band merch. What’s the merch and for what band?

I'd have an oversized black hoodie of my own but if I must choose from another band I'll go for Nocturns Kiss for a change. For Porl I'll hand him an Access All Areas Laminate from JAPAN when they performed at Hammersmith Odeon in 1982.

You’re sat on the island thinking “I’m stuck here on this island with my bandmates for eternity”… who would you rather have been shipwrecked with?

The Late Clive James would have been fun - what a history of knowledge he had. He would probably remember where this island once came. But if we can't bring him back I'll have Natalie Portman and talk about Star Wars.

There's a walkman in your pocket, on the tape inside is the recording of the one live show that stands out for you. It could be any show, from any band, anywhere in the world. What show is on that walkman?

Gary Numan's LIVING ORNAMENTS from 1980.

You're getting desperate, you decide the only course of action is to put a message in a bottle and hope someone finds it. Your message could be to any member of any band, but should be the most suitable for a rescue attempt. Who is it?

DUA LIPA cos she's fit and a strong swimmer and could therefore see that bottle with luck floating out to sea again. But you said a band so if I must I wouldn't rely on any past heroes as they're either dead or too slow to get in the ocean. So for the sake of my message in that bottle, I'll take Sophie Lloyd from MGKs. It's a lovely band and she's a friend of a friend, and a fellow blonde.

You've been stuck here a while and food supplies are running low. There's only one thing for it... which fellow band member gets sacrificed to help the others survive?

I've seen enough to be happy to go and Porl could still enjoy the delights of a glass of a claret listening to The Cure's Disintegration while having me as a sushi snack. Cheers.

Finally, when the ship sank you each managed to save one person from the wreckage. That person is the one musician that has influenced your career the most, shaped your way of thinking and your outlook on life. Who did you save?

Well Danny from Nocturns Kiss is the new saviour in the rock gaze for a generation, to save the kids from current pop hell. But if he's the influence for the young I must leave him to do that while I go for Gary Numan, who knows me my story for decades, literally.
