Bloodstock Bound: Zebulon
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Zebulon
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Zebulon: Hi, I’m Torstein guitarist of Zebulon. We are five guys in the band, Kristian on vocals, Oddmund on bass, Kenneth on guitar, and Frode on drums.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Zebulon: We play doom metal, which is a broad term, but we lean toward the traditional doom side, akin to bands like Candlemass and Trouble etc.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Zebulon: We snatched the top spot in our national M2TM final here in Norway
The Razor's Edge: How tough was the M2TM competition this year?
Zebulon: The overall quality was really high. All the bands took it up a notch and delivered a really solid performance in the final. I’m glad I wasn’t the one who had to decide.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Zebulon: We are absolutely stoked. To be on the same line-up as some of the biggest bands in the world at such a legendary festival is surreal. We can’t wait.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Zebulon: Heavy, churning riffs, with epic, dramatic vocals and melodies that gets stuck in your head. Our goal is to make the show an immersive, hard hitting, memorable experience.

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Zebulon: We are playing Saturday, timeslot is TBA
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Zebulon: I'm personally looking forward to see Orange Goblin. And I hope to discover new favourites, and will keep an eye on the New Blood bands throughout the weekend.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Zebulon: We hope to gain some momentum by this opportunity and be able to travel to promote our first full length album which will be released this fall on Apollon Records, with a new single coming out before Bloodstock.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Zebulon: We will be staying off site, which takes away from the festival experience, but flying in with luggage and lots of gear is not very tent compatible.
The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Zebulon: Does water count?
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Zebulon: Thank you! Have a great festival!
