Bloodstock Bound: Prodigal
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Prodigal
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Prodigal: We're Prodigal, a four piece made up of Louis on bass, George on guitar, Stan on vocals and Johnny on drums.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Prodigal: Our sound is heavily 90s/00s inspired drawing on elements of nu-metal, grunge, hardcore, shoegaze and alt-metal.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Prodigal: We won our regional M2TM competition to land us a spot on the bill for Bloodstock this year.
The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?
Prodigal: The competition was tough and we were up against some other really polished, tight and unique bands; luckily we had put the work in and were able to do enough to win.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Prodigal: For anyone who hasn't seen us live yet, expect a raw, authentic and free-flowing performance. The energy will stay high throughout, we wanna see some pits.

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Prodigal: We're performing on Saturday, hopefully not clashing with anyone we want to see...
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Prodigal: Top of our list to see this year are the headliners for sure, alongside Kublai Khan, Fear Factory and August Burns Red. We're also super stoked to check out some of the other M2TM winners at the New Blood stage and maybe find some new favourites!
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Prodigal: Playing Bloodstock this year is a dream come true but this is just the beginning. Right now we're focused on getting more of our tracks recorded and put out for the people to hear, starting with a few singles and moving on to an EP later on in the year.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Prodigal: To keep it 100, we're gonna be making the most our wristbands (and the showers) in the artist camping area, but if we're not sleeping you'll find us in the arena checking out everything Bloodstock 2025 has to offer.
The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Prodigal: Hydration is key, we'll be smashing the waters over the weekend. But the rhythm section will be all over the beers as well, try and stop us.
