Bloodstock Bound: Theocracide
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Theocracide
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Theocracide: We are Theocracide from Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Bena - Lead Vocals/Guitar
Max - Guitar
Rosie - Bass
Fin - Drums
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Theocracide: First and foremost, we are a thrash metal band. We do try to bring in other influences such as death metal and hardcore to try and keep it fresh but every song is at heart a thrash song.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Theocracide: After being knocked out in the semi finals in 2024, we were successful in our bid to win Metal 2 The Masses, Leeds this year.
The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?
Theocracide: The competition was insanely tough in Leeds this year. There was such a variety of different styles and every band absolutely killed it. In the final we said to ourselves we really wouldn’t be annoyed if we didn’t win as there were so many other bands who would've equally deserved it. It is amazing to be following in the footsteps of incredible Leeds bands who have won in the past such as Divided By Design, Godeth and Pariah (RIP).
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Theocracide: Bloodstock is the best festival in the UK by far so it’s so cool that we are on the bill. The experience of the festival and the bands you discover has played a big role in shaping us as a band and as metalheads. It still doesn’t feel real.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Theocracide: High speed aggressive thrash with heavy ass breakdowns and some 2 step riffs added for good measure. Hopefully it’s got something for everyone.

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Theocracide: We are playing on the Sunday. Not sure what time yet, but keep an eye out for the set times!
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Theocracide: Definitely Gojira! We’re all massive fans which makes it even cooler that we’re on the same day as them. Trivium, Warbringer and Obituary are gonna be sick as well.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Theocracide: We’re in the studio at the moment getting some more singles down. We’ve not put an EP out yet so that’s something we’re planning in the long run. We also wanna gig outside of Yorkshire a bit more. There are so many awesome thrash bands in the UK now so it’d be sick to play with some more.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Theocracide: As general admission camping is sold out, we will be in artist camping this year. We’ve got lots of mates who are going to Bloodstock, so will we be making sure to meet them in the arena.
The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Theocracide: We’re a thrash band so it’s gotta be beer. It helps that bloodstock is cheaper than most festivals but we’ll probably have a fair few lukewarm bevs at the campsite as well.
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Theocracide: See ya there!
