Bloodstock Bound: Devilhusk

Interview: Devilhusk @ Bloodstock 2025

Bloodstock Bound: Devilhusk

As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.

Today we chat with Devilhusk

The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.

Devilhusk: Hey, I’m Kino, I write, produce and play guitar for DEVILHUSK. We consist of myself, Joe Lyndon on vocals, Josh Hutchings on guitar and Kieron Durrant on drums.

The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?

Devilhusk: I think we loosely fit into the Nu-Metalcore label, if I were to give it one. We’ve got a pretty wide variety of influences in the band, but I personally pull a lot from bass music, like dubstep, drum and bass and such. It definitely comes through too; the production is just as much a part of our sound as the guitars or vocals are.

The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?

Devilhusk: Winning the Brighton M2TM!

The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?

Devilhusk: Definitely nothing to scoff at, there were absolutely bands that deserved the spot just as much as we do. I really like what Monovoid are doing, to name one, we’re looking forward to playing with them again. The Brighton metal scene is sick.

The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?

Devilhusk: It’s so cool. We’re still a very young band, we officially debuted earlier this year, so having the opportunity to present our sound and what we’re about to a crowd like Bloodstock is huge for us. In the same vein, it’s an opportunity to represent Brighton on such a scale, so we have to do it justice.

The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?

Devilhusk: Sub drops and moshpits. It’s absolutely big angry pit music, but it’s still always a fun novelty to see the music and the show get under people’s skin, particularly audiences that have never seen us before, so quickly.

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?

Devilhusk: We’re playing the Friday, and I believe we’re closing out the stage that day too, which is a sick slot. If you’re looking for something to do late on the Friday, I’ve handed it to you.

The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?

Devilhusk: Great question. Our boys in Dead Flesh are opening the festival on the Sophie stage, which we will absolutely be front and centre for. Headcount won the Hertfordshire M2TM as well, who are great, we’ve played with them before, and they go off. Like any self-respecting metal musician, I’m of course really excited for Gojira, that goes without saying. Thrown have also had a pretty sizeable impact on me personally and the kind of music we make, so you’ll see DEVILHUSK there for sure.

The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first stepping stone in a band's journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?

Devilhusk: Yeah, we’re not the types to just get comfortable, stagnation is boring. We’ve got more shows lined up post-BOA, in cool places with cool bands. The plan is getting DEVILHUSK to a more consistently regional level, and of course, come back to Bloodstock next year.

The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?

Devilhusk: We’ll be staying in the artist camp, but there are gonna be friends of the band all over the festival, so I can’t imagine we’ll be spending much time at our campsite. We’ll be too busy getting involved everywhere else, I think.

The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?

Devilhusk: It’ll probably end up being water that’s cooked in the sun all day for the most part. I’m not too fussy, I’ll drink whatever’s going. I can definitely promise that Joe will have several 8 packs of white Monster with him though, that’s half his diet.

The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!

Devilhusk: Hell yeah, I’ll see you when I’m looking at you.
