DEVIL’S ISLAND featuring Tarah Who?

DEVIL'S ISLAND featuring Tarah Who?.

Welcome to this weeks edition of Devil's Island! Every week we maroon a band or artist on the island and see what they get up to, how they cope with being all alone on a small island in the middle of the ocean. It's not your average desert island and we'll see just how each person copes with the extreme conditions.

This week when we arrived at Devil's Island we found Tarah Who? sat on the beach. We thought the duo were on COVID-19 lockdown. Turn's out they were actually stranded on our island.

How did they cope with life on Devil's Island? Find out now...

Welcome to The Razors'e Edge and our somewhat lovely, warm desert island. Don't worry about it's name I'm sure it's not as bad as that would suggest.

So you're marooned here on this island, but before you ended up shipwrecked you chose one album that you couldn't live without. Which album did you each chose and why?

CH: For sure a Nightwish album!!! Which one I don't know... I'll say "Once" because my favourite song "Ghost Love Score" is in it.
TGC: I grabbed a Tarah Who? best of songs because I want to remember the good times.

Just behind that palm tree is a shack for each of you to stay in, with enough space for you to put up a poster on the wall of one album cover. What album cover do you each chose?

CH: Still Nightwish for me hahaha!!
TGC: Brody Dalle's solo album. Simple, yet, beautiful! Gotta love Brody!

There's also a bar on this here island. But alas each of you only get to chose one drink for the entirety of your stay. What's your tipple of choice?

CH: Coke please!
TGC: This one is hard.. Let's do Moscow mule with mint.

Your suitcases were lost when your ship sank, but you each managed to salvage one item of band merch. Whats the merch and for what band?

CH: My Nightwish hockey's jersey !!
TGC: Tarah Who? bottle opener magnet... oh wait... no because we don't have beer, since I picked moscow mule and Coralie picked coke... The Tarah Who? Tote Bag, could be useful, put some leaves and branches in a bag... ya' know...

You're sat on the island thinking "I'm stuck here on this island with my bandmates for eternity"... who would you rather have been shipwrecked with?

CH: My family for sure.
TGC: My wife and furry babies.

There's a walkman in your pocket, on the tape inside is the recording of the one live show that stands out for you. It could be any show, from any band, anywhere in the world. What show is on that walkman?

CH: The live show of Nightwish in Tampere Finland, just amazing!
TGC: Alanis Morissette's Jagged little pill live dvd. Best performance!

You're getting desperate, you decide the only course of action is to put a message in a bottle and hope someone finds it. Your message could be to any member of any band, but should be the one musician most suitable for a rescue attempt. Who is it?

CH: I'll write a message to my former teacher in France, Nicolas Bastos from Dagoba, and I'm sure he will come to our rescue hahahaha.
TGC: Anelise from YUR MUM. She is trustworthy and she gets shit done!

You've been stuck here for a while and food supplies are running low. There's only one thing for it... which fellow band member gets sacrificed to help the others survive?

CH: Well ... we are only two so ...
TGC: [Laughs] That's right! we are only two. Coralie and I have siblings and we know how to share, and save some for the other. Also... I don't eat much.. so I'm sure this could help!

Finally, when the ship sank you each managed to save one person from the wreckage. That person is the one musician that has influenced your career the most, shaped your way of thinking and your outlook on life. Who did you save?

CH: There are so many people! I'll say Tuomas Holopainen from Nightwish because he's a genius and he formed Nightwish.
TGC: That is really hard, because I don't feel like only one person influenced my career. It was many experiences with many artists and life itself that made me more confident, and shape who I am today. I think I would save my friend Pilal who I recorded "Little Out There" with. He is a BIG part of what Tarah Who? sounds like today, and he has always supported me.

Sadly there is no room on our boat, so we have to sail away from Devil's Island leaving the duo on the beach. We can safely assume they aren't going to eat each other to survive and can only hope someone comes to their rescue before the Moscow Mule's run out...
