Release Round Up - July 9th

Every Friday there is a tidal wave of new music released unto the world. Whilst we try to cover as much as possible here at The Razor's Edge, it's not always possible to review everything. So each week on a Friday we'll round up some of the best new music available, some we've reviewed, some we haven't, but all worth checking out!

Theres a lot of new heavy music hitting the airwaves this week, everything from black metal, death metal, gothic metal, Stoner rock, doom, thrash metal and even some of your traditional heavy fuckin' metal!

Here's what we think you should check out today!

The undisputed kings of black metal Mayhem return this week with a new E.P. 'Atavistic Black Disorder / Kommando'.

"The juxtaposition of technically accomplished Black Metal with the more playful Punk covers shows that – for all their illustrious and nefarious – past, Mayhem sure know how to knock out a bloody good tune."

British thrashers Blacklist are making waves, bursting onto the scene destroying all before them and getting selected to appear on charity compilation CD's. This week they have a brutal new album out!

"A savage beast. Blisteringly fast, it tears along at maximum velocity. It’s an excellent piece of thrash metal."

For all the hardcore fans out there, Love Is Red are back and have a new E.P. to pummel us with! 'Darkness Is Waiting' gets released this week!

Doom legends Clouds are re-issuing their back catalogue and this week it's the turn of 2017's 'Destin'.

"Huge movements, switching between deep melancholy and soaring uplifting vocals, orchestral sweeps and crushingly heavy segments with guttural roars that could shake the devil out from the bowels of hell."

Lost Symphony infuse classical music with heavy metal on their latest album 'Chapter III'.

"Sonically, the soaring soundscapes provide ample shredding opportunity, caveated by gentler but consistently inspiring passages."

Mountain Caller release somewhat of an epic E.P. this week in 'Chronicle:Prologue' on New Heavy Sounds.
