Bloodstock 2022: Introducing - Must Kill
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and Jägermeister stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Dan, guitarist of Must Kill!
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Dan: I’m Dan and I play Guitar/Vocs
Daryl Cooper – Lead guitar
Alex Reeder – Bass
James Bell - Drums
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your style of metal?
Dan: I would describe our music as a blend of old school Thrash and Death metal. With that being said, the way in which we approach our song writing is that we want to make every song sound different and unique whilst using influences from all types of music but sticking to those core Thrash and Death metal values. If you listen to our debut EP 'Ghost Malevolent' you’ll hear that there are no two songs the same and there is something for everyone. We see this band as an entity which wants to grow and progress, we don’t want to spend the next 10 years writing the same music because this is boring for us.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Dan: We won the Hitchin M2TM
The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?
Dan: It was extremely tough, in every round we saw some really good bands and there was a lot of competition but we went in with the mind-set that we were going to play each round as if it was our last set and we feel extremely grateful that we were able to win the competition.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Dan: For me personally it’s a dream come true because I have been attending Bloodstock since 2008. Opportunities like this are the reason why we write music and practice so much.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Dan: Bloodstock can expect an energetic and powerful set which will get people banging their heads, tapping their feet and getting their goose necks on!
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Dan: We’re playing on Sunday.
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Dan: Sylosis, Exodus, Testament, Behemoth, Jinjer and Malevolence to name a few!
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first stepping stone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Dan: We want to use this opportunity to show people what we’re made of! And to hopefully acquire some new fans. The plan is to record and release our second EP by the end of 2022 and play as many shows as possible in the meantime. We are planning to go to Europe in Jan 2023 and we are already writing material for our debut album as well.
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock later this week!
Dan: See you there! We can’t wait.
