Bloodstock Bound: Prymå
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and Jägermeister stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Prymå!
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Prymå: My name is Gabi and I am the vocalist for the hard charging metal band Prymå. With me I have Max who plays guitar, Dom on drums and Ant on bass.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your style of metal?
Prymå: We have a unique mixture of style when it comes to our sound. We like to say that each of our songs are different from one another and portray a wide variant of hard punky metal to grungy, gothic black Sabbath riffs. Depending on how and why the song was created really births the reason to how the final piece is born.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Prymå: Last year we entered into M2TM – Kent. We hard grafted our way into the finals of the competition. During that time we met some great people who came to be supporters of our band. We even had people singing our lyrics back to us. We made an imprint on the Kent M2TM by then appearing as a guest headliners recently. Following that, we were invited and appeared on the London M2TM guest slot headliners, supporting the scene. I contacted Simon who judged our final and queried about playing the Jager Stage , as Simon was promoting this. This is when we were invited and we grabbed at the opportunity.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Prymå: Our lives revolve around our band. It's the first thing we think off when we wake and the last thing when we go to sleep. We have taken a huge amount from the M2TM scene and have made sure we grafted to put the work into playing this. Being able to play bloodstock made us all have a moment, we all stepped back and looked at one another. This is a huge opportunity for us and we couldn’t appreciate the people who allow growing bands opportunities like this. We're extremely proud of the band so far and this is a memory we won’t forget.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Prymå: Witchcraft, smoke, head windmills, horns and a ton... a ton of sweat
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Prymå: We’re playing on the Saturday with a crazy line-up! What an honour to be able to perform our music on the same day as some big names.
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Prymå: Meshuggah, megadeth, sepultura, in flames... and other growing bands like ourselves.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the Jager Stage is just the first stepping stone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Prymå: We’re releasing new material to the Prymates very soon and will continue to. Hopefully we will be ripping apart more of the UK with a tour and playing some other festivals... if I tell you anymore... I’d have to kill ya!
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Prymå: We always get ourselves stuck into the festival scene, after we come off stage, we’re straight into the pit with everyone! We are camping in artist camping for Bloodstock, hopefully chatting to other bands and heating about their journeys. If you’re camping close anywhere within a mile of our tent you will hear our bass player Ant either talking or laughing... he’s very loud.
The Razor's Edge: How many Jager shots will you be consuming over the weekend?
Prymå: I think one for each band playing and one for you... just to show our support!
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
