Bloodstock Bound: Public Execution
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Public Execution
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Public Execution:
Public Ex -
Kyle Townsend Vocal (Also Bass for Trading Hands)
Chris Marks – Guitar / Bass
Steve Butler-Hart – Drums (Also Drums in Korrupto)
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Public Execution: Mix of Grind and Hardcore, aggressive noise for fans of Napalm Death, Wormrot, Pig Destroyer, Discordance Axis, Magrudergrind etc etc
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Public Execution: Simon Hall sent out a post saying BOA were looking for bands that haven’t applied for M2TM, we emailed and here we are.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Public Execution: Its great to tick this one off, I know a lot of our friends will be there so a great opportunity to catch up , network and make a lot of noise.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Public Execution: Probably a lot of bad in jokes, a lot of attempts at merch sales mid set, usually upsetting Iron Maiden fans somewhere in there, a lot of song titles to try and make people laugh, the look of shock if we get our songs right, but otherwise very fast intense blasts, give our release “Mullered” a listen as we will play all of it.
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Public Execution: Sat 10th August, early afternoon on the EMP with timing dependant on main stage finishes.
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Public Execution: We will only be there the Saturday, so from that line up, local heroes Sylosis, Malevolence, Deicide, Whitechapel. Will wander into the New Blood as well and try check out some new bands. Friday I'm sure Hatebreed will be mental!
The Razor's Edge: Playing the EMP Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Public Execution: We've certainly noticed a lot of new plays on the streaming sites and exposure from interviews such as this. We've all been around the scene a long time from our previous bands so we know how it works, will certainly use it in the EPK but where it goes time will tell.
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Public Execution: Sadly we can’t to this time around but Midgard would’ve been the usual location to get “Mullered”!
The Razor's Edge: It’s festival weekend, what’s your food vendor of choice on site?
Public Execution: KFC on the way home!
