Bloodstock Bound: Famyne

Interview: Famyne @ Bloodstock 2025

Bloodstock Bound: Famyne

As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the stages at this years event.

Today we chat with Famyne

The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.

Famyne: We are Famyne - Tom Vane on vocals, Chris Travers on bass, Martin Emmons on guitar, Tom Ross on guitar and Mike Ross on drums

The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?

Famyne: Canterbury Doom

The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?

Famyne: In short: through hard work and perseverance! Having played the New Blood stage in 2016, then the Sophie Lancaster stage in 2021, and releasing two albums and touring in between, late last year we were invited to play the Ronnie James Dio stage at 2025's Bloodstock.

The Razor's Edge: What does playing the main stage at Bloodstock mean to you?

Famyne: It has come off the back of years of hard work and personal sacrifices, and it will be the biggest show we have done to date so it means a very great deal to us. It feels like an achievement and we're immensely proud, and honoured, to be invited to play the hallowed ground of the main stage.

The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?

Famyne: We put everything into our performances. It's a release for us, as it is for many bands, so it will be high energy, passionate and, above all, smothered in doom and dread

Bloodstock Bound: Famyne

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?

Famyne: Friday at 11:45 am

The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?

Famyne: All of them really and it's always a pleasure to check out bands we've never seen before, but in particular Mastodon, Gojira, Machinehead and our good friends in Lowdown and Wall.

The Razor's Edge: How will you capitalise on your main stage opportunity to take yourselves to the next level?

Famyne: We recently started working with our manager Ashlinn who is probably already cooking up some great plans for the future, but in general we hope it will draw in new fans and act as a springboard for bigger shows (as well as being a wonderful experience). With album three in the works, we're very excited about the opportunities playing the RJD stage will bring and the new audience it will expose us to.

The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?

Famyne: The festival is at capacity this year so unfortunately we are not allowed to stay in the normal camping areas - where we would usually be. We will absolutely be hanging out in them though! We are staying for the whole weekend and hope to meet and make new friends, as always. We love to be in the thick of the action.

The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?

Famyne: Well, aside from plenty of water, probably a mix of beer, cider, Jack Daniels and coke and possibly even some Malibu infused slushies...
