Bloodstock Bound: Regicide
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Regicide
Please introduce yourselves.
We are Regicide from Essex, Regicide consists of:
Niall Byrne: Lead Vocals & Rhythm Guitar
Josh Birch: Bass & Backing Vocals
Gareth Brimley: Lead Guitar & Backing Vocals
Jordan Maze: Drums
How would you describe your sound?
We are a Thrash/Groove metal band. Thrashy Riffs and groovy breakdowns.
How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
We managed to successfully win the Metal to the Masses East Anglia Region
How tough was the competition this year?
It was our first time going into East Anglia as there wasn’t an Essex region this year. The competition was tough, very tough, from the heats all the way to the final the Caliber of bands has been outstanding, the east Anglia scene is strong and the bands coming through are strong too.
What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
It’s a dream come true honestly, it’s something we have all inspired to play and now we get to and we cannot wait to play, we are working hard in our practices to make sure we put on an amazing show!
For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Expect a high energy show, we really like to get the crowd involved when we play. Our songs are heavy, so we encourage everyone to get the mosh pits going, stir up the circle pits and form the wall of death!

What day are you performing?
Friday, Time TBC.
What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Really looking forward to seeing Lamb of God, Sepultura, Slaughter to Prevail and Mushroom head to name a few.
Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
We are in the process of recording our second album at the moment, we have three songs which are around 75% done, so we are hoping to release these as singles along with music videos, so please keep an eye out on our socials!
Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
We all usually camp in Jotunheim.
You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Obviously, nothing beats an ice-cold lager, if were talking shorts, got to be JD & Coke or Captain Morgans….and of course water….
See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Can’t wait!
