Bloodstock Bound: Crucible

As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.

Today we chat with Crucible

The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.

Crucible: We are Crucible, Zakk Austin on vocals, Jack Nally on guitar, Jayden Lea-Villafrati on bass and Stanley Nelson on the drums.

The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?

Crucible: We play death thrash with the riffing and energy of bands like Kreator and Death, intense vocals like Lamb of God, Mudvayne basslines and the occasional Meshuggah inspired breakdown.

The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?

Crucible: We were suggested to replace a band at the last minute in the first round of M2TM Coventry and despite our inexperience and age we managed to win it.

The Razor's Edge: How tough was this years M2TM competition?

Crucible: Incredibly tough, every band brought so much talent and energy and we met so many amazing people across the different heats. It was such a privilege to be able to share the stage with so many great bands.

The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?

Crucible: It means the world to us, we are in our first year as a band and are only 17 so the fact we’ve managed to work our way up to this is insane for us. We can't believe it and we are so thankful for everyone who supported us across the competition.

The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?

Crucible: A raw and energetic live show with a massive pit.

Bloodstock Bound: Crucible

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?

Crucible: Sunday 11th August

The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?

Crucible: Opeth are our guitarist Jack’s favourite band of all time, as well as them we’re particularly looking forward to Hatebreed, Whitechapel, Carcass and Amon Amarth

The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?

Crucible: We plan to record and release our debut EP “The Cage” and hopefully share it with the world by the end of August.

The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?

Crucible: We’ll be staying in the artist camp for the weekend.

The Razor's Edge: It’s festival weekend, what’s your food vendor of choice on site?

Crucible: Texas Smoker looks absolutely unreal, we'll definitely be checking them out.
