Chris Adler leaves Lamb of God

Chris-Adler

In a statement released by the band on Friday evening, Lamb of God have announced that they have parted ways with founding member and long time drummer, Chris Adler.

Dear Lamb of God fans,

We returned last week from a great European festival run and our final tour with Slayer in North America. We are excited to keep the momentum going and dive into the next record.

We'd like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album.

We're very proud of everything this band has accomplished over the last two decades. We would like to thank Chris Adler for his contributions over the years and wish him the best in his future endeavors.

Thank you,

John, Mark, Randy & Willie

In late 2017, Chris was involved in a serious motorcycle accident that shattered his collarbone, right shoulder and part of his right hip.

Since the accident, Adler has been undergoing physical therapy and has not been able to perform with the band. Adler took to social media late last year to state that he would only return to the band when he was at 100% and was able to perform at his peak. In his absence, Chris handpicked friend Art Cruz to replace him for the band's remaining touring commitments.

Art, formally of Prong and Winds of Plague, will not join Lamb of God as Adler's full time replacement.
