Bloodstock 2022: Introducing - Headpress
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and Jägermeister stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Mart, guitarist of Headpress!
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Mart: I’m Mart. I play guitar and vocals.
Karl is main vocals and bass.
And Tim is drums and vocals.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your style of metal?
Mart: We sit somewhere on death/metal hardcore spectrum I suppose. Hard to say really because I don’t think we really sound like death metal or hardcore. We just try to write fucking heavy songs with groove and clarity. We usually just say we’re a metal band.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Mart: M2TM Stoke-on-Trent. Our home town.
The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?
Mart: Six competing bands on our final, and everyone deserved a slot. In fact 2 of the other bands are actually playing as well. Hellfekted and Warlock AD. Go watch ‘em both
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Mart: We've watched hundreds of bands grace the stages across the years, and now we feel honoured to now be a part of the best UK festival, bar non.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Mart: Just really heavy with groove. The type of music you go in the pit to.
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Mart: Saturday
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Mart: I was looking forward to watching Jinjer, but looks like we might be clashing so that fucks that up. Haha. Lamb of God are a big one for me and Testament. Cyhra and Malevolence. It’s not like we’re short of ace bands to watch. There are always ace bands on at Bloodstock. That’s why we always go.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first stepping stone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Mart: Haha. If we haven’t concurred the world by now I don’t it’s gonna happen.
We’ve got a video and new single dropping 4th August and a few more songs recorded ready to release when videos are filmed.
The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
Mart: Awesome. See you there, dude.
