DEVIL'S ISLAND featuring Lost Dogs of Ultimo

Welcome to this weeks edition of Devil's Island! Every week we maroon a band or artist on the island and see what they get up to, how they cope with being all alone on a small island in the middle of the ocean. It's not your average desert island and we'll see just how each person copes with the extreme conditions.

This week when we arrived at Devil's Island we find Lost Dogs of Ultimo sat on the beach. The island is far from their home, so how did they end up here and how did they cope with life on Devil's Island?

Find out now...

Welcome to The Razors'e Edge and our somewhat lovely, warm desert island. Don't worry about it's name I'm sure it's not as bad as that would suggest.

You're marooned here on this island, but before you ended up shipwrecked you chose one album that you couldn't live without. Which album did you each chose and why?

I love listening to albums in their entirety its not done much with music streaming always on algorithms and shuffle mode.

My one album choice would be Sandanista by The Clash its a huge album 36 songs covers a lot of ground with Reggae Punk and Dub beats. Just to enjoy their experimental creativity in such a short career as band its an album of celebration for them.

Just behind that palm tree is a shack for each of you to stay in, with enough space for you to put up a poster on the wall of one album cover. What album cover do you each chose?

“Like Wow” posters is a hard one I take street art photos of old weathered band posters in my spare time. I've seen a few but I would have to settle on Hoodoo Gurus from 1985 release Mars Needs Guitars just a great animated arty album cover of the band members and a fantastic album of guitar driven songs

There's also a bar on this here island. But alas each of you only get to choose one drink for the entirety of your stay. What's your tipple of choice?

It would be a Depth Charge that is when you get a Pint of beer and drop a shot of Drambui still in its own glass in to the pint but take your time drinking it if your like me Im a one pot screamer

Your suitcases were lost when your ship sank, but you each managed to salvage one item of band merch. What’s the merch and for what band?

Ohoy there Im going to have to go with The Beastie Boys when they took a big inflatable Cock on the Licensed to Ill tour I could see myself navigating that Big dick all the way home

You’re sat on the island thinking “I’m stuck here on this island with my bandmates for eternity”… who would you rather have been shipwrecked with?

I don't have band mates but I do have collaborators on the Lost Dogs Of Ultimo Project So I can ditch them easily especially for Charlotte Cooper from The Subways

There's a walkman in your pocket, on the tape inside is the recording of the one live show that stands out for you. It could be any show, from any band, anywhere in the world. What show is on that walkman?

Ok I snuck into a Buzzcocks gig in Sydney in the 90s as a roadie ? got backstage hit the after party all night got a little wild I was every bodys friend Shelleys thinking who the fuck is this guy . That was some gig I want to keep listening to that set list and relive that night

You're getting desperate, you decide the only course of action is to put a message in a bottle and hope someone finds it. Your message could be to any member of any band, but should be the most suitable for a rescue attempt. Who is it?

That could only be one person for me Johny Cash he knows how to get out of a tight squeeze and bounce back.

You've been stuck here for a while and food supplies are running low. There's only one thing for it... which fellow band member gets sacrificed to help the others survive?

Always the drummer man they got a lot of baggage.

Finally, when the ship sank you each managed to save one person from the wreckage. That person is the one musician that has influenced your career the most, shaped your way of thinking and your outlook on life. Who did you save?

The legend Alan Vega from Suicide some great experimental sounds that has blown my mind and opened another world up for sound development in my song writing

Thanks for your time. We hope you get back to dry land before you're next due out on tour!
