Bloodstock Bound: Lethal Evil
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with Lethal Evil
The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.
Lethal Evil: I’m Ernie aka Evil E, the drummer and lyricist, and founding member of the band. My bandmates are Juan Pablo, aka JP Lethal, singer/guitarist, and Charlie aka Diabolical C on bass duties.
The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?
Lethal Evil: Lethal Evil is a groovy power trio and we blend old-school Thrash with Death with a modern metal sound. Expect punchy guitars, growling voices, thunderous drums and catchy choruses, in the likes of Pantera, Sepultura, Carcass, Entombed, Kreator, just to name a few influences.
The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
Lethal Evil: Well, actually Simon Hall put a post on Facebook offering a few slots left on the EMP stage. We applied and we were selected among a few other bands, which we are really proud of and we can’t wait to play there.
The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
Lethal Evil: It certainly means a lot! BOA is, in our opinion the best metal festival in the UK and being offered a chance to play there is truly amazing. I’ve already played there twice, but for Lethal Evil it’s our first time.
The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Lethal Evil: A headbanging frenzy from start to finish!!
The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?
Lethal Evil: We’re performing on Friday the 9th August
The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Lethal Evil: For me it has to be Hatebreed, Opeth, our friends Cultura Tres, Carcass and Satyricon.
The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
Lethal Evil: Our plan is to release our first single off the upcoming debut album just before Bloodstock, and then play outside of London and hopefully even mainland Europe and beyond. And of course release the album when ready!
The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
Lethal Evil: No, we’re staying in a hotel for the whole festival, so we have more chances of surviving the four days!!
The Razor's Edge: It’s festival weekend, what’s your food vendor of choice on site?
Lethal Evil: We’re not familiar with any of the food vendors, so we’ll see.
We will definitely visit some beer vendors, that’s for sure!
