Doom, Grind, Hardcore, Sludge, Death it's safe to say that Red Brick from the City of Brotherly Love have crammed a variety of sounds and styles into their new output Thrown which is set for release at the end of July.

The two piece band firstly seamlessly blends each of the bands elements within each of Thrown's seven tracks giving each of the individual styles their own place within this release to enable full effect to come through the speakers. The full effect is a pretty fun and nasty car crash of a musical output, as its big humongous riffs meet with volatile vocals and powerful drums with little to no regard for anything soft whatsoever.

Album Review: Red Brick - Thrown

I think the production on this record is a really key factor in the overall nasty feeling of the songs. Its dark and extremely powerful sound really lends itself to the sheer hostile nature that Red Brick have created within this record. What I will say is that the hostility shown within the songs really gives the record an unpleasant listening experience and that's what I take most from the record, it's how it brings that emotion to the front and center of each song and just drop kicks you right in the jaw riff after riff.

Red Brick have crafted a selection of punishing tracks, which fit nowhere stylistic wise yet fit everywhere within the chosen styles they morph together. It's a work with a lot of heart put into it, it's a short and powerful piece of work which wraps up in about fifteen minutes but within those fifteen minutes that they have your attention you will be treated to so much in the way of fantastic craft and sheer violence. An absolutely top notch release.
