Bloodstock Bound: Vmbra

Interview: Vmbra @ Bloodstock 2025

Bloodstock Bound: Vmbra

As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.

Today we chat with Vmbra

The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.

Vmbra: Ai Sanchez – vocals/keyboard
Jack Hogg – guitar/vocals
Pete Cook – bass
Kieran Byrne – drums/vocals

The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your sound?

Vmbra: Progressive metal. A fusion of disparate genres with a through-line of metal.

The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?

Vmbra: Winners of M2TM in Manchester.

The Razor's Edge: How tough was the M2TM competition this year?

Vmbra: Ridiculous. We played alongside many great bands that we consider friends all of whom are absolute monsters. Every band brought something incredible to their live performance.

The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?

Vmbra: A true honour. We can't quite believe we are seeing our name on the same poster as some of our heroes.

The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?

Vmbra: We've been honing our live set to be the hardest hitting thing we can muster, as we'd hate to disappoint. Expect big harmonies, thunderous riffs, a little bit of silliness and so many musical left turns we will be facing the same direction we started at.

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?

Vmbra: Friday (don’t know the time yet).

The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?

Vmbra: We had the privilledge to share stage with Ghosts of Atlantis last weekend. At Bloodstock, they’re playing a different day to us so we’re looking forward to watching them without worrying about our own performance.

But we’re also huge fans of Mastodon, Trivium and Gojira so can’t wait to see them.

The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?

Vmbra: We’ve got a very busy summer of gigs taking us around the country and we’re currently recording an album which we hope to have out later this year

We're hoping this is the start of a beautiful relationship with the festival and that as we carry on our own musical journey we can check in every now and then to see how everyone is doing.

The Razor's Edge: Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?

Vmbra: No but we’ll be hanging around when we’re not playing.

The Razor's Edge: You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?

Vmbra: Jack and Kieran have a bit of a weakness for Fireball so hopefully we won’t find any there! Ai and Pete, being the more refine half of the band, enjoy sipping wine.

The Razor's Edge: See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!

Vmbra: Can’t wait, say hi if you see us!
