Bloodstock 2022: Introducing – Drip Fed Empire

Bloodstock 2022: Introducing - Drip Fed Empire

As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and Jägermeister stages at this years event.

Today we chat with Drip Fed Empire!

The Razor's Edge: Please introduce yourself and your band mates.

Drip Fed Empire: Hey we’re Drip Fed Empire which consists of Jamie Fitzpatrick (Vocals + Electronics), Jordan Cross (Guitar), Jack Banning (Bass) and Sean Burcher (Drums).

The Razor's Edge: How would you describe your style of metal?

Drip Fed Empire: It’s a wide mix of influences to be fair, you could basically call it genre blending I guess. To put it in layman's terms imagine, The Prodigy meets Rammstein meets Rage Against The Machine these are artists we’re commonly compared to. Lots of dance beats, DJ sections, breakdowns & stomping riffs topped with politically charged lyrics.

Styalistically theres a mix of everything from Post Hardcore, Metalcore, Nu-Metal, Industrial, Drum & Bass, Dubstep (old school) & Hip-Hop and more.

The Razor's Edge: How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?

Drip Fed Empire: We won M2TM Nottingham

The Razor's Edge: How tough was the competition this year?

Drip Fed Empire: Competition was tough this year. We didn't expect to win as we’re not locals to Nottingham. We’ve only just begun to build a following there so it was cool to go compete and win over a crowd each time.

Bloodstock 2022: Introducing – Drip Fed Empire

The Razor's Edge: What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?

Drip Fed Empire: Being one the most established Metal festivals in the U.K. this means everything to us and I’m sure all of the other bands would say the same thing. It feels good to be acknowledged for your craft at this level by the metal community.

The Razor's Edge: For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?

Drip Fed Empire: I think we’re gonna be one of the curveball bands for sure due to the electronic elements of our sound, we’re not what you’d call a thoroughbred metal band if you get me. Wether it’s people's cuppa’ tea or not I think we’ll turn some heads for sure.

You can expect an explosion of energy from us whenever we perform. We love to really get things pumping as much as we can, we never hold back and always try to go harder and give more than our last performance.

The Razor's Edge: What day are you performing?

Drip Fed Empire: We’re performing on the Sunday.

The Razor's Edge: What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?

Drip Fed Empire: Behemoth, Lamb Of God, Malevolence, Killing Joke, Jinjer, Sylosis, Bloodywood, Heart Of A Coward, Sleep Token, Nekrogoblikon, Heriot, Cage Fight & Pupil Slicer.

The Razor's Edge: Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first stepping stone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?

Drip Fed Empire: So next up for us we have a HRH Goth & Industrial appearance in Leeds (11.09). After that we have some final tour dates around the U.K (12.11-.03.11). Dates will include Worthing, Norwich, Birmingham, Hull, Swindon & Cardiff. All while gearing up for our debut album which we’re due to start recording early January 2023.
