DEVIL’S ISLAND featuring Days To Come

Devil's Island featuring Days To Come.

Welcome to this weeks edition of Devil's Island! Every week we maroon a band or artist on the island and see what they get up to, how they cope with being all alone on a small island in the middle of the ocean. It's not your average desert island and we'll see just how each person copes with the extreme conditions.

This week when we arrived at Devil's Island we found Georgia based rock outfit Days To Come sat on the beach. We thought they may have succumb to Corona virus, turns out they'd managed to escape it all by getting shipwrecked on our island!

How did they cope with life on Devil's Island? Find out now...

Welcome to The Razors'e Edge and our somewhat lovely, warm desert island. Don't worry about it's name I'm sure it's not as bad as that would suggest.

So you're marooned here on this island, but before you ended up shipwrecked you chose one album that you couldn't live without. Which album did you each chose and why?

Justin: WHAM! Make it Big. If I’m stranded on the beach, I wanna make sure it’s a party.
Brandon: Handmade Cities by Plini. All of the songs will make me feel hopeful and I'll survive through it.
Jalen: The Thirteenth Step by A Perfect Circle. It's the one I've listened to probably the most in recent years.

Just behind that palm tree is a shack for each of you to stay in, with enough space for you to put up a poster on the wall of one album cover. What album cover do you each chose?

Justin: Probably the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack because, you know, we’re trying to survive out here?
Brandon: Intervals - The Shape of Colour. It's so pleasing to look at.
Jalen: Breaking Benjamin's Ember album cover. It's a really sharp and powerful image.

There's also a bar on this here island. But alas each of you only get to chose one drink for the entirety of your stay. What's your tipple of choice?

Justin: How long can I survive on rum and coke?
Brandon: Water. Need to stay strong and healthy.
Jalen: Cran-Apple Juice from Ocean Spray. Tis a sweet somewhat beneficial drink to stomach issues.

Your suitcases were lost when your ship sank, but you each managed to salvage one item of band merch. Whats the merch and for what band?

Justin: I’m pretty sure Ventruss had soap at one time. If that exists, that’s definitely what I would want.
Brandon: Our DTC machetes. Coming soon of course.
Jalen: A Nickelback shirt. It'd be the easiest for me to rip up and make fires.

You're sat on the island thinking "I'm stuck here on this island with my bandmates for eternity"... who would you rather have been shipwrecked with?

Justin: My wife.
Brandon: Oh Justin’s Dad for sure. We'd get hella work done.
Jalen: My Girlfriend.

There's a walkman in your pocket, on the tape inside is the recording of the one live show that stands out for you. It could be any show, from any band, anywhere in the world. What show is on that walkman?

Justin: It’s amazing I have a Walkman and it’s incredible it survived the swim to shore after our wreck. I’m guessing Alter Bridge Live at the O2 Arena or George Michael 25 Live is on it. A 50/50 chance.
Brandon: Devin Townsend in Plovdiv 2017. He played with an orchestra and it sound beautiful. So much went into it and theres so much to take in.
Jalen: A Perfect Circle live at Red Rocks in Colorado

You're getting desperate, you decide the only course of action is to put a message in a bottle and hope someone finds it. Your message could be to any member of any band, but should be the one musician most suitable for a rescue attempt. Who is it?

Justin: Mark Wahlberg (Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch) would definitely come to our rescue. He’s a hero you know.
Brandon: Ben from Ventruss. He could see us from anywhere in the world if he stood on his tippy toes, then he could send people our way.
Jalen: I know Keanu Reeves isn't in a band but he's the only person (other than family) that would actually attempt to rescue me.

You've been stuck here for a while and food supplies are running low. There's only one thing for it... which fellow band member gets sacrificed to help the others survive?

Justin: Oof. Can I say that I’m a vegetarian?
Brandon: Oh definitely me. Puts me out of the misery and I have enough fat for the rest.
Jalen: Brandon......

Finally, when the ship sank you each managed to save one person from the wreckage. That person is the one musician that has influenced your career the most, shaped your way of thinking and your outlook on life. Who did you save?

Justin: Myles Kennedy. You’re welcome sir.
Brandon: Plini for sure. He's inspired me to do so much over the past few years. Then he'd owe me for saving his life and I'd use that so he could help me get on of his guitars.
Jalen: Slash. When I was little he was the musician that got me interested in being in a band to begin with.

Sadly there was no room on our boat so we had to leave the lads behind on the island. We left them sat round a campfire on the beach desperately hoping a duel rescue attempt from Mark Wahlberg and Keanu Reeves was on its way...
